Jeffrey De Luna and Joven Bustamante hurdle their respective rivals to advance in the round-of-32
of the 2007 Philippine World Pool Championships last night at the Big Dome.
De Luna, 23, upset heavyweight Lee Vann Corteza, 28, 10-7. while Bustamante shocked another
tournament favorite Dennis Orcollo, 10-6, Francisco "Django" Bustamante crushed one of the European
team in Mosconi Cup David Alcaide of Spain, 10-1 to also advance in round of 32, in the All Pinoy round
-of-64 knock-out match last night to progress.
Another fresh result Roberto Gomez ousted Alex Lely of Netherlands 10-1.
Lee Kung Fang of Taiwan, Ralf Souquet of Germany, Luis Condo of Austria, Niels Feijen of the Netherlands,
Luong Chi Dung of Vietnam also advance in the round-of-32 wcurve a similar route into victory.
Lee nipped Raj Hundal of England, 10-6, Souqet beat Naoyuki Oi of Japan, 10-8, Condo smashed Chan
KK of Taiwan, 10-2, Feijen outplayed Charlie Williams of the USA, 10-7, and Luong crushed Earl Strickland
of the USA, 10-8, in the $400,000 total pot tournament which offers $100,000 to the champion and will be
aired on ESPN.
