Why is next event(7-12/15) not listed in AZ's upcoming events? Just wondering.

Still no chatter on AzB about Appleton's 3rd 8-Ball event, which starts tomorrow, with free streaming. Here's Ted Lerner's news release from earlier today: https://www.worldpoolseries.com/wps/its-time-for-the-ryo-rack-classic-championship/

Is all the west coast activity hurting this event? It looks like the entries are down again:

1st event -- 119
2nd event -- 82
3rd event -- I can't find a list yet, but only 32 matches are on the schedule for the first round, so that would be 64 players at most (if no byes)

I like this tournament haven't played in one yet but I like the long races, like the fact it's 8 ball on 9ft also. I think it's bad timing with West Coast going now & then you have the BCA literally the next day you have to leave to make the US Open events in Vegas.

Yes, it would be lots of travel and expense to go back and forth to all these events. It's too bad, as Darren is trying to do something that could be really good for pro pool in the long run. He has said he is quite pleased with the series so far, but he's not hitting the numbers he wanted.

Mika Immonen made the flight back east after playing in California - did anyone else?

It is strange that. There is very little talk about this here on AZ. sjm reminded me a couple of days ago that this was happening at Steinways. I will be in the area and will try and make it to the final day.

Is this a repeat of what happened in April -- no stream for the first planned match? I think they had lighting problems that time.

A n y o n e h a v e a s t r e a m ?

[I see, from the live scoring, that the matches are underway.]

Is the added money based on a full field of 128? If it is, 62 players will be less than half that. What about the MC points? Half of them to? No MC points for the US Open 9 Ball...what a joke by Matchroom. Johnnyt

Wouldn't try asking WPS this. They get all defensive, whiney if you question anything they do. The NSA is more open than these guys. BTW, pretty sure the US Open is a MC points event.

In the past, yes. This year the US Open is too late to allow team training so it is not a points event for this year. The last points event on the schedule is the Houston Open, Sep. 9-10.

MR's site still has it listed as a tier 1 qualifier.
