Wrap or Wrapless?

Lol well u can give me that lambros and ill give u a wrapless cue deal lol

It's just sitting in a case collecting dust bro. I'm playing predator now. Make me an offer who knows lol

my cue has an embossed cow hide wrap, best leather wrap ever, everyone who tries it says it's like the cue grips you back when you grip it, but weirdly i grip it with the very back of the cue so it's like i shoot with a wrapless cue, but that leather is super nice when i'm shooting a ball on the rail or sumthin that i have to grip the cue shorter

Wrapless, with a story behind it.

I've got a long wingspan. So my situation may be a little different than most.

I used to shoot with a wrapped cue, and every time I shot, I found myself with two fingers hanging off the butt end. Couple that with my arm/elbow never being in the correct position when making contact with the cueball.

I picked up a wrapless 60" sneaky on the 'bay a few months ago. And within a month, my game went up at least a ball. More consistency, being able to grab the cue 'naturally', versus feeling that butt cap and bumper.

I never looked back.

If it isn't Cortland linen it's wrap less.
Cortland has a different texture than regular irish linen
And in some cases after they press and put on a finish on irish linen it's to slick
For me.
Mcp

This guy killed it

Cortland all the way, so much better than any other wraps, at least for me

I like the control and feel of wrapless.

The first cue I bought had a wrap. Not knowing any better, I figured "with" must be better than "without." Wrong.

I always felt the the cue was slipping out of my hand.

I have a wrapless break cue and a leather wrap on my player. I like both and never really thought about why.

I really prefer wrap less cues. I dislike it when I am touching half wrap half unwrapped portions of the cue. It is a distraction I can do without when I am plying. I also feel like I get much better feel when I play with out wrap.

I use a wrap-less sneaky-pete-style cue.

It's interesting to me to see how many people in this thread use wrap-less, because it seems like 95+% of cues that I see people playing with have a wrap.

My thoughts exactly. A 60" wrap less cue is awesome!

I dont think it makes any difference. My Mizerak cue had no wrap, I shot fine with it. My Brunswick GC5 has a leather wrap....I don't shoot any better or worse with it. I love my GC5 (moreso because it was a bday gift from my wife), it hits great, and the wrap looks nice....but the wrap doesn't make any difference in my game.

Started out with linen, went to leather, then to wrapless. I also like rubber on break cues, and I would like to have a cue with the cork wrap. Have felt the cork, really liked it.

It's 90% aesthetics to me: go with what looks good on the cue.

For the remaining 10%, I like in order:
1. Leather (ostrich is awesome)
2. Wrapless
3. Linen

Interesting, for me it's just the opposite. It's 90% functional. I like the linen and when I can I'll get it re-wrapped and double pressed annually. It greatly aids in using a light slip stroke. But for sure we all enjoy different feels in our cues.

Wrapped with linen on all the cues I play with regularly. My hand is rarely on the wrap though. I like the looks of wrapped cues. Wrapless cues look like exotic wood canvases rather than functional tools to me. My playing cue doesn't have a cheap piece of wood under the wrap either
