I would love to buy this book but can not afford it. It is almost $300 at the major book stores. Does anyone have a copy they would let go for less than an arm and a leg?:o I would be even grateful to just borrow one for the read.

I did a major search and found one for $125.00 for you. PM me for the link if you are interested. That is the cheapest price I could find for you on the internet. I would grab it if you want one. The next lowest price found is $199 and it just goes up from there. Hope this helps. Check the link.

OMG- can someone tell me why this book is sooo much? I know I have a copy that I bought at least 10 years ago that is somewhere stored away. I never knew, I will have to hunt it down.
I had to not paid more than $25-30 I believe back then...

Billiards Books can get crazy over time.

I had bought a beautiful new hardbound and covered Billiards Encyclopedia a few years back listed as a surplus priced sale for $35 ea. Later gave my only copy as a gift to a poolroom owner in Florida who treated me with great respect over the few years I was there and the year I worked for him. Now, he has a book worth many times what I paid for it. Lessons learned. I should have bought the remaining stock of surplus. Then I could sell them and buy a poolroom. Some billiards books appreciate faster than cues or gold!

That book was self-published, so it was probably a small run. Also, the materials were not very high quality, so many of the copies that were sold may not be around now. Also, as the price goes up, people like you who have a copy become more likely to keep it.

I borrowed it and read it soon after it was published; it's a fascinating story. I, too, wish that I had bought a copy (or ten) when I could have.

I appreciate all the comments. Pool And pokerman thanks for doing the search. Although that is a steal I am trying to save for DCC. I might just ask Santa for it.lol

I emailed the Buddy Hall estore and requested a copy. The guy who runs the store said they had sold them but they ran out of them.

I told him this should tell him something and that they should print another edition or reprint the last edition.

Haven't heard a word since.

I'm hoping.

Are the prices being discussed for hard or soft cover??

Thanks, Adam
I don't think they printed any hardcover, ribdoner. At least I have never seen one.
