The suggestions posted thus far by everybody else have been really good ones. However, if you're interested in buying a new production cue in the 200 price range, take a look at any reputable store's websites and look at their McDermott G-series cues. They start at around 208. I just bought a G208 two weeks ago for 225. I love the hit with this cue. That's not to say you will too. But just a few weeks ago, I started a thread on here asking which is the best cue in the $175 to $250 price range and I got lots of great recommendations and, in the end, I bought the McDermott G208. Last night, I discovered a problem with the shaft and called McDermott (again after getting great advice from someone here on AZB) and they are taking care of the problem. Great customer service. Lifetime warranty. Can't beat it.

Ask people in the places you play to let you try their cues. See what you like. A firm hit, a soft hit, whatever? See if there are cues you love once you try them, or immediately dislike. That should help steer your choices.

Best of luck to you.

Your best bet is a Dale Perry on ebay. There is usually 8-10 on there everyday. They play real well for the money and they are brand new.

I have an older Mcdermott with a mike durbin shaft. It has a slight roll, not even a credit card in the shaft, recently refinished and leather wrap installed, plays nice 210 shipped. If interested, I will post pics or email them.
