I am looking to buy either a Bob Frey, Keith Josey and a Jensen. Which one would yall recommend buying? I would preferably like one that I could use for breaking also. My price range is between 400-500. Let me know what you got.

Let style dictate your choice.

I think any of the three makers would be a fine choice. I have 2 Frey cues and I break with both of them with no problems or fears.

I think you'll hear mostly good things about all three around here. Since you're in Baton Rouge, it shouldn't be hard to find a Jensen to try out. He's a good guy to deal with if you get in touch. I've never seen a cue of his with G10 pin though.

We have a nice purpleheart Josey w a smooth black leather wrap on our website that is very reasonable.

Jensen cue

What price range???
I have a real nice wrapless Jensen if your interested.

You most definately cannot go wrong with a Jensen. Mike is well know for making a good players cue. I like my old classic four point player so much I sent it to him to me make me an identical j/b. Great cues. Good luck with your search.

I have to say that I tried out one of the Frey sneakies that everyone gushes about, and was very disappointed. The butt was a small diameter, the points were short, the finish was so-so, and the cue had an overall odd feel to it. It was brand new and I returned it. If you're looking for an affordable "all business" sneaky, you might try out this ebony Patrick with ivory Hoppe ring. I haven't tried out a Josey, but he's on my short list.

Good luck.

Thanks for the helpful information. It's really hard trying to buy cues that I have never got to hit with which is why I wanted some opinions. I have hit with a Jensen before and loved the hit, I was just kind of trying to see what others thought. Thanks for the feedback and keep it coming

You can't go wrong dealing with Jamie.
Check out his page for several Joseys. One I know is on your price range. Also I had several Joseys and they all play awesome, it is only up to you of how fancy you want them to be:

I love the way my Frey hits, the finish is a little lacking though

The cue now has smooth Black leather on it and it really looks great. I didn't up the price of the cue when I had the leather added but The cue is close to your target price range . Cue is unplayed other than some test hits with chalk by a customer at the SBE .

The guy I sold that grey jensen to loved it so much he bought a very fancy jensen and may want to sell the grey one...it has two shafts and hits lights out. Let me know and I will call him.....450- 500 probably...
