WTB joint pin installer .....

I think he's talking about a piece of delrin thats bored and tapped and faced off that we use to install a pin the identical depth each time and to keep it as straight as possible while the epoxy dries

Pin installer

If he's got the tools to install a pin he should have the tools to make one, don't be lazy. I know sometimes it's not worth your time to make a special tool but this one is easy.

Hi,

I designed and use this one for my pin install. Once the epoxy starts to get a little gooey I just touch the the face and indicate zero.

Works good because the epoxy cures while the pin remains on zero. I can also take the cue out if my lathe in about 1/2 hour and it finish the cure time in a rack.

If you build one bore the minor about .010 over size. The fixture works better that way.

If you want me to build you one, I would be happy to help you out.

I could see that working exceptionally well if you use a piloted joint and cut a pilot into the delrin so that it is supported from outside the joint and inside it at the same time.
