the J&J cues dont have phenolic which is why i specified that because i saw those and they still do not have phenolic tips i am aware of the cuemakers i am sure i can call any and have them make me one which i am trying to avoid i want one fast to use because i have never tried one

I'm pretty sure J&J's do have Phenolic tips. I've been known to be wrong before though....

Yeah they do, I bought one from Chris and he can get you the one piece phenolic tip and ferrule or the two piece tip and ferrule. Both are phenolic though.

Some J&J's have phenolic tips. ChrisOnline appears to have some that have phenolic tips as well as shafts that don't but are meant for playing. If you ask him for one I'm sure he'll get you one.

On a related note I have a J&J break jump That DOES have a phenolic tip. It's slightly used. Tiny dings in shaft but no noticeable blueing. I just never bothered to get the couple of dings out. I bought it to try out a phenolic tip as well as not to break the bank. I can sell it for $30. You can't lose at that price. You wouldn't have any problems selling it back for the price you paid if you don't like the cue.

I bought a J&J from Chris (chrisonline) with a one piece phoenelic ferrule/tip combo. I was the same as you, just wanted to try it out. Chris sells them for $60 shipped with joint protectors. I don't think you'll find a better deal or a better person to deal with.

Another vote for ChrisOnline and the J&J j/b cues with the phenolic tip. I love mine and it breaks a ton.

BHQ makes one of the best looking break/jumps you'll ever see. i havent had a chance to play with the solid purpleheart cue i bought from him, but it is solid. i agree with everyone else. buy a j&j from chris so you can have it soon, and place an order with Brent(BHQ)Hartman.

ok ok sorry guys i meant to say they have the phenoliic tip and ferrule combo i guess thats where i messed up

I agree with paulybatz, chrisonline is your best bet for an inexspensive jump/break. I personally have not dealt with chris but I`ve always heard and read great things about him, chris will do you right. Just my 2 cents.

thanks for the kind words guys.. positive rep for you all...

as of right now.. J&J will only sell the break cues with the white ferrule and the phenolic tip.. they are no longer having the other phenolic tips made because of the guylassi patent..

if your interested in trying one of the ones i have right now, i have that butterfly($60 shipped priority/ins) that is 17 ounce and a solid black one that has linen wrap that goes all the way down to the small buttcap and it comes with a spare 13mm shaft for playing also ($85 priority insured with a set of jp's.) i havent advertised this one yet.. just wanted to sell the first others first.. and if anybody that already has a j&j jump break, i have a few spare shooting shafts that will joint up for $20 plus 9.00 priority shipping ($29)

honestly, they are deffinatly worth the chance.. they are inexpensive and i get alot of repeat customers who buy them , use them for a month and sell them for more then they paid.. hey.. what can i say.. i like to pass on a good deal.. lemme know.. chris

i have bought 3 from chris. my first 2 i sold for 10 bucks more than i bought them for. people love these jb cues. im sold on J&J jb cues untill i get the money/skill to own a X-Breaker. by the way chris is an exelent person to deal with here on AZ.

I have a Fury J/B cue for sale, it's around 18.5-19oz in great condition. I have used it for about a year, may have a couple of small dings but otherwise like new. My reason for selling it is I have a Varney J/B on the way and have to make room for it in my case. I was told that this is the actual cue that Platinum Billiards used in their speed test, but don't qoute me on that. I am asking $90.00USD

I myself have a J&J and i can attest to the fact that it breaks a TON. (If only I could learn to do so:rolleyes: )

Id pick one up at 60$, you cant beat that. It jumps pretty nice too.

you've had that sucker for three weeks
don't quit pool now!!!! :D
hope you enjoy it

your workmanship on that cue is first rate. i finally got a chance to play with it. since this one is on the heavy side, its not very forgiving(operator error). after working on my break for about 15 minutes i had it smashing the rack squarely. i then proceeded to turture the ghost in a race to 10. i like the fact that you use the same pin in both places on the cue, as i prefer to use the fat end of the butt and the shaft(shut up). it is the best jump cue that i have ever used. i want another one if you can get the weight down alittle bit.

I've got a Fury J/B with an extra shaft and a custom irish linen wrap (Black w/green speck) 18.0 oz. It is the same color (cocobolo?) as the one pictured. It's like new. I'll try to get pictures up for you.
