WTB Jump Break Cue

I am just wanting to get everybodys input on Jump Break Cues. I have three I really like. I have not had the chance to use any of these cues. So any helpful insight would be great. Also any other makers would be great also. I perfer to buy a new one. I really dont want to wait a few months. I am considering these cues.....Steve Lomax Bunjee X-Pro, X-Breaker and the Mike Gulyassy J/B. Any info would be great.
 
i've tried the jerico thumper, bunjee j/b and my petree oh and an action j/m.

the thumper and bunjee both jumped great, i t hink the bunjee had the edge though (my friend had the heavier but end on it when i tried it though) my petree works fine for me i haven't had too many jump shots come up since i bought it though. the action worked supprisingly well. i'd go with the bunjee for price and time reasons

Because they are unilock joints or because they are readily avalible?

readily available, and not too high priced. a couple people here say that you can't go wrong with the j&j. it's like 60 bones and i know Nineball or was it Nineball art said it worked just as well as a jerico thumper

don't quoat me on the 60 bones thing that's a rough guess

I have considered that route also. Just buying a jump cue and then buying a BK2. I have used a BK2. Very nice cue. It seems by reading the other threads that any of the prevously mentoined cues would be great.
 
Opinion only

This is just my opinion, but I have played 45 years:

I currently have a J&J Break/Jump, and like it. For the money, it has the biggest bang, IMO. I would only graduate to an X2-Breaker or possibly a Varney (Still favor the X-Breaker more because of tips used by each, and I do a lot of research on products)

A good friend of mine and adversary used to have a J&J Break/Jump cue, and he broke and jumped with it REAL GOOD. That's where I first learned about them. He was making about 85-90% of his jump shots (middle of the table or not). He sold it, and later picked up one of the new Bunjee Break/Jump cues. You can get a J&J from Chrisonline for $60.

He doesn't break as well, a lessor break than the J&J, and he now only makes about 20% of the jump shots he attempts. Plus the wrap on it has come undone, and is unraveling. It has a price of 179.95.

I have broken with a Predator BK, but not with the BK2. I was not impressed with the BK, and unless the BK2 has had SIGNIFICANT improvements, it would not impress me either. I used to have seperate Jump cue from Break cue, and the J&J, I now have, convinced me otherwise. But, with X-Breaker coming out with a seperate Jump cue now, leaves me with more questions in my mind.
Plus, you use less case space with a B/J cue, or incase you want to carry
2 different jump cues (long jumping with accuracy vs. short jumping).

X-Breaker, and the new ones out with X2-tip are the HARDEST
tips out to date, and the X-Breaker website shows a hardness table of different tips. Harder tips are better for breaking and jumping. Plus the X-Breaker tips retain chalk better than phenolic tips, and therefore offer better control.

Just my opinions, and no affiliation.
 
my oppinion...

Fury J/B... they hit a TON!!! and they are nicely priced also... i picked mine up for 100 brand new and everyone in town says it breaks better than any other cue in town.

Take look into the J/B from Ryan at Ratcues. (some of it's in my avitar)

I found a Like-New Cuetec Jump-Break Cue on ebay last year and snagged it for $35.00 ... Added a Moori Quick Tip and it breaks and jumps just fine ... It is also a "cheap" Cue to keep in the car and can be used for regular play at your local tavern/bar to pick up some "walkin' around money" without the "schlepps" knowing you are better than them.
