I am looking for a Lucasi spliced shaft or a spliced shaft for a Lucasi cue with a Uni-Loc quick disconnect joint. Has anyone used one of these Lucasi spliced shafts for a break cue? If so...how do they break?

Yes, I have one and have used it to break. I like it. :)

i play with a predator 314-2 which is an 8 piece radial laminate shaft, though while i havent broken with it, i hear they break pretty well considering the BK and BK2 shafts are from the same blanks. however, predators do have that hollow in the front. i haven't seen lucasi's, but i can only assume it has a solid front end.

dominiak's dominator is the same construction @ http://www.dominiakcues.com/dominator.html

or mueller's will custom fit one to your cue with your specs for tip, ferrule, tip size and taper length @ http://www.poolndarts.com/58-Professional-Cue-Repair-Extra-Shafts/

Thanks Guys...I seen the shaft from Neilsen's on Ebay. I was hoping that someone would have one cheaper. I currently break with a Predator sneaky pete. I don't like it as much as my buddies Lucasi with a predator shaft. That combination hits like a sledge hammer. I just purchased a Lucasi titanium series sneaky pete and was going to try the Lucasi spliced shaft on it. I may know someone with one of those shafts and was going to ask them to let me try it on my Lucasi butt. I was also going to try my buddies predator shaft (and my predator shaft also). I play with a Mike Bender (certainly not going to break with that cue) and am now looking for the right break cue combo. I was hoping that the Lucasi shaft works out since I can then sell the entire Predator cue. Thanks Again!!!

most of your energy transfer in your break shot, not with standing stroke speed, is going to be related to the tip and ferrule, then from there to the taper of the shaft, not really so much in the construction, ie solid, flat laminate, radial laminate, etc. the really the only advantage to laminate contruction is it enables use of lower quality wood and strengthens it so a more aggresive taper, longer and/or thinner, can be used without sacrificing structural integrity.

as i said in my earlier reply, i dont know what kind of further construction meathods lucasi uses with thier radial laminate shaft nor do i know what kind of tip and ferrule they have on em, but if you plan on using your newly aquired lucasi for preaking, i'd firt recomend putting a harder tip and ferrule on it. you'd be surprised how much differance it would make.

i mean thats really the only differance between the predator 314 and BK shafts. the 314 comes with soft plastic Titan ferrule and a medium everest layered tip. both soft and mushy and absorb the energy from the stroke, where the bk has a hard ivorine 3 ferrule and hard phonelic tip.
