most of your energy transfer in your break shot, not with standing stroke speed, is going to be related to the tip and ferrule, then from there to the taper of the shaft, not really so much in the construction, ie solid, flat laminate, radial laminate, etc. the really the only advantage to laminate contruction is it enables use of lower quality wood and strengthens it so a more aggresive taper, longer and/or thinner, can be used without sacrificing structural integrity.
as i said in my earlier reply, i dont know what kind of further construction meathods lucasi uses with thier radial laminate shaft nor do i know what kind of tip and ferrule they have on em, but if you plan on using your newly aquired lucasi for preaking, i'd firt recomend putting a harder tip and ferrule on it. you'd be surprised how much differance it would make.
i mean thats really the only differance between the predator 314 and BK shafts. the 314 comes with soft plastic Titan ferrule and a medium everest layered tip. both soft and mushy and absorb the energy from the stroke, where the bk has a hard ivorine 3 ferrule and hard phonelic tip.
