WTB: MY Dad's "Frank Paradise" Diamond King

Looking to repurchase my Fathers Paradise Diamond King that he purchased directly from Frank in 1958. My Dad grew up in Brooklyn, and played out of the "Ovington Lounge" in Bay Ridge and Frank McGowen's billiard hall on 50th and 5th Ave. in Brooklyn in the 1950's and early 60's.

Sadly Auctioned on Ebay to a gentleman in Metuchen NJ in 1998 for $1750
Traditional Level 4 Diamond King with with black irish linen wrap. Phenolic butt with two aquamarine rings. Under Plastic is my Dad's name A. Federman, Original By Frank Paradise. Whoever has this stick I'll pay big bucks to bring it home! My Dad will be 75 in August '08 and he's regretted every day he parted with it. Any info on purchaser would be greatly appreciated as well.

If you know the buyer's eBay ID, you can get their contact info via the "Find Contact Information" advanced search feature on eBay. Just enter their user ID and the auction number if you were the seller, and presto! You have to be involved in a transaction with that user to get their info, so if you weren't the seller, then you'll just have to place a bid on one of their auctions, then you can get the info.

Good luck!

Dad's "Frank Paradise" Diamond King

I recommed that you offer a finders fee of around 1,000.00 to the person that can locate this cue. More people will be looking for the cue that way since they can benefit from finding it for you. It is apparent that you are willing to pay alot to get the cue back (1,000%). It would also help to post a picture of a cue like it so everybody knows what your looking for.

You would still have to make a deal with the owner to buy the cue if he would even sell it.

I just found a picture of a Paradise Diamond King on the internet. I typed in "Paradise Diamond King" and found that Proficent Billiards has pictures of one. Any AZers know how to make a copy of it and add to this post?

I have this 1968 Frank Paradise completely restored by Jerry Rauenzahn. I'm sure it would be a very close second to your original cue if you don't locate it. Give it some thought.

I wanted to take this day to offer my thanks to all the members of AZ Billiards who went out of their way in attempting to help me recover my dad's "Paradise" cue.

Wishing you all the happiest of holidays and a healthy and prosperous New Year!

Many Thanks,

Jack F.

Still looking for that elusive cue!

I figured I try this one more time. My Dad's 75th Birthday is fast approaching. Over 1000 AZ er's have viewed this post, between this and an earlier posting.

I would have to assume there is a compassionate person in the community who has seen or is aware of this cue.

Many Thanks,

JF

How about something as simple as posting flyers in the pool halls in that city? You had a volunteer in that area asking if they could help. You could also mail them to the pool halls along with your story.

I have a paradise that I purchased off ebay around 11 years ago when I was in NYC. It has an initial "A.F.".

the OP hasn't been on the forum in almost 3 years, last activity was 11-21-08. That would be ashame if the above is his dad's old cue and he doesn't see this post. Best of luck to the OP on finding the cue.

Chady

Wow, this thread was revived from about 4 years ago (for some reason) but it sure sounds like you have this guy's dad's cue. AZ is too much!

Thanks

Kevin

Why not post a pic of the cue in the case the OP ever gets back on AZB to search again. I also think it would be very cool if the original cue was able to go back to the OP's dad.

Also another great idea was presented to have Jerry R, build a tribute to original specs. May not be the original cue but it'll sure look and play like it for the OP's dad.

it would be great if daddy gets his cue back from his son,
but i won't believe it till it happens

i am buying cues almost exactly like this from bob owen
you might like to commission him to make you one

Tomorrows treasures can be had from Bob today
that's what makes pool cues so much fun to buy and own

look at mine in the cue gallery on bob's thread
its not exactly like yours ,but Bob can make it exactly what you want
