Im getting ready to install Simonis Tourney blue 860HR on my home table and I need to buy some 3/16" neoprene facings. Where can I buy these at?

Thanks Bryan

Diamond Billiards 812-288-7665 Not sure who to ask for but they have them in 3 or 4 sizes or thicknesses.

Facings

Call your local wetsuit manufacturer and ask for 60 duro neoprene scraps and cut your own.

Not too many of those here in the Arizona desert. Have any extra scraps laying around you want to send my way??

Why neoprene? Neoprene is full of filler and will harden and crack. It's made for garden variety gasket use and not a good pool table choice. Try using 75durometer SBR with a matte face. It is usually burnt orange in color and will not crumble and dry out like smooth neoprene or God forbid the black stuff with muslin (cloth) stuck to it. That stuff is a mess and only lasts a year or so. The face of the orange SBR (sometimes referred to as cloth face even though there is NO cloth on it) has a nice texture that gives contact cement a tooth. It does not dry out, shrink, crack or harden. (if you buy the good kind) We sell die cut facings for coin rails or larger facings for 3 piece tables in 1/16", 3/32", 1/8" and 1/4" thicknesses.

I have to call BS on this one, as I've been using neoprene facing material for the last 25 years, and not once have I ever had to replace it because it "dried" out. Even Diamond has been using the neoprene facings for years in manufacturing their pool tables:rolleyes:

Call Southwest rubber & hose, they're in Phoenix, tell them you're looking for some 3/16" neoprene, 60dr...they have it, I know, I just bought some there a few weeks ago;) It comes in 3' or 4' rolls, about $8 a running foot.

facing material..

Believe it or not, the best facing material I have found is to go to O'Reilly's and ask for a few truck mud flaps(about 13 bucks each) They are made with reinforced material, and each one has 2 thicknesses on it. Enough for several tables, downfall is you will use a rubber knife to cut and possibly some 3in1 or WD to assist in cutting, where standard shims can be done with boxcutter. I find the life expectancy is the same if not longer than neoprene.
