Looking for an old Adam cue like a model 'El Dorado' or 'Ritz' (or of that era) that is in need of repairs or just needs a complete restoration. I see one Billiardcue that looks pretty nice but it's a bit pricey for it's condition. Unless someone knows if Mr.Abbot will take offers. ~Thanks

The eldorado on billiardcue.com, is VERY BADLY warped. not just the shaft, its warped badly in the forearm as well.
Dick will negotiate in most cases, and in my opinion,he should. Any way, He seems to be a pretty nice guy, from my experience.

Thanks Jayman for the heads up. I like the traditional design in cues and figured an Adam might be a fairly inexpensive way to find a classic designed cue. Especially nice if I can have it restored. Love the heavy silver rings.. like some of the Palmers. But they are getting up there in price these days.

But a warped butt is just no good no matter how ya slice it.

Contact Nelson

I sold a nice Ritz to Taiko here on AZ a couple months back.....I think he had it rewrapped and is thinking about selling it to pay for another cue ;)

Ya mean like this here?!

it's not bad if the warp is in the handle area. which can be determined by a good cue maker. replace the handle, re-wrap and finish and the cue is as good as new. maybe better if you use a laminated handle.

Don't buy a warped one if you don't have too!

I can only tell you that Taiko has one that is a solid hitter and it rolled straight the last time I had it in my hands ;)

That one is warped in the points. and not just a tad either.

You Know, Adams is remaking those cues and some other models currently. I have sold them, and they are a real value for money. You may want to think of one of the new ones, with the refinish of an old one a new will cost less.

Here are some photo's of the currently made models!!!

Oh, and they hit as good as they look. They are really very well made, (Same Quality as The Balabushka's).

Good Luck

Reissues

Yeah, I saw those for sale. They do look good but it appears they have less veneers than the original. Wish they would have kept it as an identical replica. But I'm keeping it in mind anyway. If I can't find an original I like then I will probably pick one of these up. :R:

Many of the cues are exactly the same with the exception of the cues pin which is 5/16-14 not 5/16-18 like the originals. One thing though that is better than the originals is the finishing work, and the quality ofthe finish itself.

Have a good day!
