Anyone have a single phase round pole sander for sale.? I'm open for suggestions , maybe a belt sander with a rubber wheel pulling it through will work, I've seen a cuemaker shop with one of those and they loved it.
thanks, Bill

Round pole sanders are the nuts. I know two builders that have them & neither want to build cues if they couldn't have it.

I was in Mike Wheeler's shop last Tuesday and he love's his so much, he spent about 30 minutes talking about it and even demo'd it.

His is a beast with a 3-phase motor.

I've been doing a little research and it seems that the company who I bought my round pole sander from, Sunhill Woodworking Machinery Inc., has closed it's doors. There

doesn't seem to be any other supplier for these machines in the US. I contacted Grizzly and explained that there was a demand for these machines and that there was no longer

a supplier for them. They come from Hoon Hsiang in Taiwan ROC. I figure that Grizzly would be a good company to handle them because they offer Asian machinery at reasonable

prices and have a good record when it comes to "after the sale" issues. They're the best of the import machinery companies when it comes to replacement parts and service. I

think if they were, shall we say, inundated with emails from cuemakers asking them to handle the equipment whether or not you're ready to purchase on or not, it would behoove

all of us. I already have one muself and I couldn't be happier with it, but it would be nice to know that if the circumstance did arise that I needed some parts for my machine,

that I could purchase them through Grizzly! So I'm asking all of you cuemakers and even "wannabe cuemakers" to email Grizzly and ask them to start handling the "Round Pole

Sanders". The single belt model, which is what cuemakers would want, is a FS80B. Here's an email address for Jane Brion, the customer service supervisor who responded to my

email. janeb@grizzly.com . Let's blow up her email with requests to show them that we're serious.

Thanks for your help guys. If you're not now ready to purchase one, after you see how good they work, you'll want one and hopefully by then they will be in the catalog!

Done! Please let us know if you hear anything from Griz first.

It seems as though the people whom are wanting one of these machines don't feel like looking very hard. There have been 2 of these machines auctioned off, one 3 weeks ago for 1000.00 and change and one 2 days ago for 1125.00. Google is your friend. You just have to go farther than the first page or two.

Actually she sounded like she had a positive attitude but she did say they had a lot of projects in the works and it could take a little while. That's why I thought it might help to show them there was a demand for the machines.

Dick,
If you see what lee wrote he was looking for three years. Kinda discouraged me from internet searching. but I'll try, I found one in Calif.
but the shipping is close to fifteen hundred. If someone wants one and lives in calif. and wants to pick it up at someones house I can hook him up with a good price. http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=140088
