For about $2 you can make your own very easy with 2 pieces of wood & a hinge.

that would be more in the lines of a burnisher...
Works fine as a press. I know a few cuemakers who use one they've made.

do you have to do anything to the wood where is contacts the wrap. ive seen a few home made specials but dont wana destroy a cue being cheap.
i half the half circle on each side with round edges but di you have to do anything else
can someone post a pic of their home made presser please
also which is better delrin or wood. i know its up to opinion but whats the difference

I understand delrin rollers are faster however nothing replaces a good old piece of oak to press and properly burnish.
I took a quick picture of a set i made quite a while back. Just simply 2 pieces of oak, a bolt and nut, with a sleeve btween the 2 pieces of oak. I did sand it smooth before the first using. Only thing You really gotta be carefull around the finish with this type press, and it can scuff the finish up where it meets the wrap if not carefull. it works, although I could see It being considered more of a burmish then a pressing, well maybe a combination of both. That's a good idea
, these don't have a complete half moon cut, and hard to tell from the picture, but I did knock the edges down on them, so there is some taper to toward the middle, and I can actually ride up about 1/16-1/8 with no damage, but there is a fine line there, and anything more Is risky.Hard finishes I've had no problems with, but did have a soft finish one time that bit me in the rear, got a slight scuffing that milked the top of the finish up some, and had to polish it back out clear.
I have to say It's not the safest way to press, so i wouldn't recomend anyone learning to use them on a customer cue first. I learned to use mine on My own cues until I felt confident enough that I had control over them.
I can only say they work, but there are far better ways IMO.
Back in the dark ages I used to use the side of a big socket...LOLz
