With 300 games and an 849, that is not a very accidental 849, but likely he is closer to 800 than 849. While you may get lucky and win a few games against some good players, 300 games and playing at an 849 level is a whole lotta of run outs. He probably played a bunch of 700/750s and won handily vs playing 800+ rated players and being closer.

i would say around 805 - 810, after having watched him play in a couple events. very solid player, comes from the iraqi snooker scene iirc

Does Fargo cover general perf or does it break down into individual rulesets? (8,9,10,1 hole)

Yeah I know. The details aren't interesting except when something like this occurs to me. Frankly, meaningful specs should include separate values for separate games.
So if there were separate specs for different games I imagine you would see lots of FR#s that are way high or low due to small robustness. Guys don't play anywhere near as many games in 1 pocket trnmnts as say 9 ball tournaments. May have to play 10 trnmnts to get to 400 games , and there would be threads about 849 Fargo wth.
Could at least break down into percentages of the various games, leaving the overall Fargo credible.
Next people will want to know the % of games for different entry fees , size of the tables , recorded matches , was the 5 ball orange ?
size of table and discipline would be interesting break downs to be fair. tony chohan is a good example, not many 800's want to play him even in 1p

Not a concern for me. People in the field know/tell each other who's who, who can what, what to bet etc... People like me see new player on Youtube and maybe big Fargo and gotta start the process of who beat's who and how, and how much, and on and on.

I played a dude with an 830 FR (368) not long back - he plays Duya and Chinese-8 league stuff. One of the best in China. Certain quality of player is going to find their way to the top of any ranking. The fact is, they need to have the resource to enter events, or pander to the organizer of said ranking. Whatever it is that's used to quantify 'the best players'
I think a lot of players where I am currently living would have monstrous FR with high robustness if they had the resource to travel, and more FR tournaments around.
Said it many times over, I don't think the pro-circuit accurately reflects who the world's best players are, just the ones with the money to travel and compete, or the right connections... Gives us something to watch on Youtube though...
