*Everything is straight together and apart.

I Actually just recieved information from another az'er that the buttcap isnt ivory even though it has grain to it. Im gonna call ernie tonight to get the actual material.

Yup that grain has fooled many.

Could you describe the butt cap material in terms that I can understand?
Grainy plastic is way too technical for me.

Ernie makes his 17a model with a plastic buttcap. It has all the characteristics of ivory because it has alot of vertical grain to it.

The ferrules and joint are ivory.
