X Breaker Help!

Hey everyone!

I was looking at buying an X Breaker. However, the one I was looking at is 18oz. I usually use a 19oz cue. To quote their website:

Weight: 18-20oz. Our cues are all naturally balanced one at a time

Weight Bolt: Each cue is equipped to accomodate a weight bolt if necessary

Does this mean the cue is naturally balanced at whatever weight it comes at and you can add a weight bolt later on if you want to change the weight? Or does this mean they use a weight bolt normally and you can just step it up a little bit. I'm a bit confused here :)

And how do ya'll feel about adding around a 1oz weight bolt versus having one naturally weigh 19oz?

Thanks!
Ry

all my cues have a weight bolt... so I dont think its much concern,

The weight bolt would likely weigh more than 1 oz, they have to make up for the loosing of weight drilling a hollow tube in the butt for the weight bolt.

Sometimes I think all these questions & posts about the X-Breaker are self serving, free advertising.

Ry,

Thank you for your question. The X Breaker is naturally balanced. It means it does not have any weight bolt. If you want a bolt to increase the weight, you can put one in the butt and it is very easy.

The lightest I have built is 18 oz. I could go lighter but I do not really want to use maple of very low density. I am not comfortable with the quality of such pieces.

If you want a 19 oz X Breaker, I would recommend you order a 18.5 oz and then try to add a bolt if you want it heavier. The reason is because most of my customers told me they go a bit lighter than their old breaking cue when they break with the X Breaker.

The balance of the X breaker is more forward and the taper is different from other breaking cues, you should find it easier to generate more power and control.

The difference between using the bolt or not, in my opinion, would be a slight difference in the balance. The weight bolt will shift the balance back by about 1/8 of an inch or less. Some people like slightly more back balanced and some likes it slightly forward, it is really personal. You should also consider the fact that it is much easier to add weight than to lose weight in a cue.

I hope this answered your question. Thank you very much for your interest.

Richard

John,
Thank you so much.
You can place your order from Beads and Billiards from OR or Joe Neilsen from IL. Their info are listed on my site under "contact us."
I am sold out right now.
Thank you.
Richard

Explain yourself, or at least your lack of understanding about the definition of 'self-serving'. You will recall that the thread starter is a user, not a seller of the X-Breaker. Proceed...

Probably some 'shill' that the x-breaker people use to promote their product with some stupid question....something that gets repeated on here every 2 weeks or so.

If you see it often ...

It is because the Xbreaker is selling well, and more and more players
are hearing about it, and have questions. All the players that have one
that post have only had good things to say about it, and Richard
(Nipponbilliards) is very helpful and expediate in answering any questions
by players. I have noticed in the past that he could have been very
irate about some comments made, but wasn't and only tried to help.
Sure, he would like to promote his product just like anyone else that
has something to sell does, I would too. Richard is a good guy and a
very nice person to deal with. Now that Xmas is over, I plan to start
saving up for my Xbreaker to get in the future.

This from a guy with a Sledgehammer for an Avatar? Kind of like Fox Fair and Balanced News.

Richard is a great guy and runs the xbreaker company well. He treats his customers with respect and keeps in touch with them. He doesn't pay people to advertise for his break stick, the quality of the cue does it for him.

I know why watchez is upset, you can find it in his avatar. ;)

I'm definantly not connected to the X Breaker company in any way. I'm just a player addicted to this sport like the rest of ya'll :D

I currently have a Players jump/break cue that the shaft warped on and I got some money for Christmas and was looking to upgrade. As several people here stated... there has been nothing but good things posted about the X Breaker. It makes me very interested in the product, and Richard is always quick to respond to anyones questions regarding his product. To me, this speaks a lot for the company and is the reason I posted the question here. I definantly don't claim to know it all and I'm always looking to learn something :)

Anyways, I placed my order with Joe at Nielsens Billiards last night and can't wait to receive my X Breaker. I'll be sure to let ya'll know what I think :D

Good luck with your new cue

I have bought many items from joe and he is one of the best dealers that i know. Would like to here your opinion of the cue after you get it as I am considering purchasing one myself.

Having posted here some good comments about my Xbreaker, I want to make clear that I'm not connected with Xtremebilliards at all. I'm just one of Richard's customers. If someone here have a question about the Xbreaker or anything else I could know, I just try to be helpful like many of you (Richard included) have been to me. In this case, I couldn't help saying that I bought, and paid for, a good product from a reliable company.

John, Walter, Scott, Tom, Tanner and others...

Thank you for the interest, support and the kind words. Much appreciated.

For the record, I have had the pleasure to have some of these people as my customers, and Walter and Scott are not even using a X Breaker. None of them ever got paid by me or my company. None of them has ever received a free X Breaker from me. I have never imposed it upon anyone to post any review on this forum or any forum. They wrote what they wrote out of the kindness of their hearts.

Watchez, when someone asks a question here about the X Breaker, I will try my best to answer it. There is no such thing as a "stupid" question. May be you are upset about our exposure because you are associated with another company, perhaps you have other issues, I will respect your opinion expressed toward me; however, please do not insult another poster by calling his question "stupid." Also, please do not call other posters "shill" when you obviously do not know them. Thank you.

I did not start this post by advertising my cues like some other posters do with their cases, or web site, or whatever. As the manufacturer of the X Breaker, I do feel obligated to offer my knowledge and provide information to those who seek them. Other than this particular poster, someone else visiting this forum may also be interested to know the answer to the same question that was posted. That is why a lot of people visit this forum in the first place.

You are more than welcome to skip this post if you are offended by the supports and interests the X Breaker has been receiving.

Thank you.

Richard

Now that's showing some class in a reply towards a guy who's being disrespectfull. Personally, I'm glad that the X-breaker is doing so well because Richard is a good guy. I purchased my x-breaker from beadsandbilliards.com but only after Richard told me to go through them. He had a few wrapless models left but told me that B&B should have a few left. He could have sold me the ones he had but in my email, I mentioned I was in college and didn't have much money and pointed me to B&B who were selling them a bit cheaper. That's a guy who really cares for his customers.
