Yang vs. Orcullo

Congrats to Yang. A very convincing victory, and he deserves the title of money game king.

I wonder if Lee Van would have had a better chance than Dennis at this point in time.

Any chance of a rematch?...this time in Yang's home turf? ;)

Why is it so improbable to so some here that Yang may just be better overall?

I mean one of them is the better overall player, why can't it be Yang? The man is smoking Dennis on his home turf
I don't think it's improbable that Yang is the better player overall, especially since he won this long race in PI. But this is only one match in 9ball, and pool is more than just 9ball.

If Yang played Efren in a similar 9ball race, Yang would be the favorite and would probably win that match as well (I'm talking Efren of today).

But would that make you automatically conclude that Yang is the better player than Efren overall? Would he win a similar race in one-pocket, straight pool, 8ball, 10ball, and rotation? I doubt it's money in the bank.

I'm not taking anything away from Yang. Right now, he is the undisputed 9ball money king. But that doesn't mean he's a better overall player than Orcullo. Though, it might indicate that he has more ice water in his veins, and that he can handle the pressure better.

But enough of the others. This is Yang's day! Long live YANG!

In a long race, like to 60 or 80 and more, I honestly think Efren would be the favorite over anyone right now. The longer he plays, the better he plays. He's got more stamina than most 25 or 30 year old pro players. When Efren plays in all these tournaments, in races to 9 and 11, often he loses when he's not even warmed up. And yet even when he's cold he's still liable to beat anyone. Look at all the DCC one pocket title's he's won. They are grueling formats. He plays all day and all night long, but he keeps getting stronger and stronger. Long matches suit Efren perfectly IMO.

Wow congrats to Yang, he's sent a message around the world who's boss in 9ball. For him to beat Orcullo in such a convincing fashion, that is incredible. He had something like a 20 game lead for a while! And from what I heard he kept putting packages together, and locking Dennis up. Not much anyone can do when they sit in their chair for a long time, and get up every once in a while to kick.

Can anyone explain what was the deal with the racks in the first day? I heard they both complained about getting slug racks. Was the lady ref really giving them bad racks all the time or what?

Thanks to all of you who kept us updated on this. I can't wait to purchase this match!!!

If you have two players close to equal in 9-ball and both have heart, the one that has his break going and gets the rolls will win. Those matches will go either way on any given day. That's why I hate 9-ball. Too much luck in it. Johnnyt

PAYDAY!!! But not for me. Congrats to MR. YANG and to those who had the guts to back him with their dough. Nostroke, Leechenman, Shanesinnot, Cheemagun, uwate and JohnnyT. All checks will be in the mail on Monday, right along with my income tax. Just consider it a little tax refund. Thanks for playing with me.

About as much emotion you get from Yang

Referee Ces Marquez hugging little Dency Ralph - Orcullo's 4 year-old son. Dennis is a true family man, his wife and kids are often there when he plays.

first Pan, now Yang

good little run for the Taiwanese
I don't think Pan is Taiwanese, I believe she's mainlander. But one can technically argue that Yang is Chinese. ;)

So good little run for the Chinese.

It's a political distinction, I think most people on this island recognize that. My parents were born in Taiwan, they consider themselves Chinese and Taiwanese both.

It was a cruel thing Yang did to the Pinoys, on their home turf nonetheless.
