You have 1 hour in the pool room?

First things first, I get an ice cold drink. Look around to see if there are any money players in the house. If not, look to see if there are any hot girls around. If not, order another drink, pay tab, and save myself about 45 mins or so. Great Mexican food and Margaritas next door. Prob some good looking ladies as well.

I played for an hour yesterday and literally shot a bunch of shots with a touch of inside. :p

P.S. But for real I did shoot a rack only using inside messing around, it was interesting.

My normal routine is to get a beverage, spread the balls out and get warmed up for a rack or two then I shoot some 6 Pocket which is challenging for practice. I would rather have an hour of solid practice then playing for fun or cheap with someone who is not very enjoyable to play with.

Get on the triple shimmed table and work on long shots with big strokes...

If I'm that limited on time, I practice racking the balls tight, screwing my cue together, and chalking. The pros always say to practice the basics and fundamentals. Don't waste time shooting balls.

Lol awesome

Me personally

I play the one pocket ghost with a very slightly harder than traditional break(about 5 balls open usually). Makes you focus pretty hard to break open clusters and keep going. Easy to keep track of your progress in a tangible way too if you like.

When I get to the table all I take out of the tray is the CB. I hit three rail patterns for a while getting the measure of the cushions and cloth. Then I set up some position drills to work on speed and english. Then I either work on shots that have vexed me in my previous session or just play some racks. I enjoy an hour of solitude on the table.

If all I have is an hour, I'll set up a few long straight in shots to get my stroke out a little, then settle into a few racks of 6 Pocket as well.

What do you do to work on your game?

I suppose it depends on what I'm getting ready for: a 1pocket match, or maybe some 14.1. If I've just played a match or tournament I will usually work on the shots I remember missing or executing poorly. (Often, that will take more than an hour :-) Udderwise, I like to just try and run a few racks of straight pool.

Normally, if I was going to the Center or Stixx and only had an hour I wouldnt go! It takes me a half hour to get to either one. But if were only at either one for an hour I'd loosen up and shoot in a couple racks of balls and then spend the remainder of the time practicing a few drills. A few of them are for control and a couple are for a straight stroke. But in all honesty an hour isn't really enough.

Center table drill... Throw out the balls and shoot em in any order and bring the cue ball back to center table every shot.... Even out of stroke I am pretty good odds on making about anything from the center of the table aside from balls frozen to the center of the head or foot rail.... If I don't have time to work hard I need to work smart.....
