I just finished composing a reply to Robin Dodson's thread. By the time I finished composing and reading and re-reading my note and checking for spelling errors and logical stream of thought, the forum clock logged me off and I lost the whole thing.

In my experience, the failure to post does not erase your browser's memory of the edited response. In your browser:
<back>
<select text>
<Copy>
log in again
<start to post a response>
<paste>

You might try composing in a text program on your computer if it is going to be long. Then copy/paste.

Another way to prevent the loss of a reply while you're still composing it is to hit the "Preview Post" button next to the "Submit Reply" button every once in a while, then continue composing, editing, etc.

Type away. Just before hitting submit, right click and copy it. If all Hell breaks loose, you can paste it.
