Last week I'm at FELT in Denver. The place is pretty dead. Just me and an older black man named Ron talking. He's very nice with a great smile. I'm pretty much begging him to play me even knowing this guy is probably insanely good or was. Finally I got a table by myself and he then joined me. His pool ability wasn't the greatest (but he could shoot decent) and he was limping due to a knee injury. That night I'm surfing the channels and low and behold there's Ron being interviewed on a local Fox channel.
Turns out this very friendly guy I spent an hour or two with is Ron Lyle the great boxer. Check out some of his youtube videos boxing Ali and George Foreman etc. He says he hangs out at Felt because he lives close and is retired. His cue was very cool, super thin with no wrap. I'm looking forward to seeing him again. I'm sure we will have much more to talk about the next time. The George Foreman fight is regarded as one of the greatest of all time. Check it out.
