I am not ingesting your sloppy joe at the same time just because you sat next to me and chose to make a poor gastronomical choice ! So their is a very distinct difference in my having to inhale your body toxins and second hand smoke just because I would like to have equal access to my recreation of choice !![]()
between us , you might look at being as concerned about your health and longevity as you are about your clothes getting smoky![]()

You choose to drive, and might even be the most cautious driver ever, but still run the risk of somebody else causing you physical harm. My point had much more to do with government bans. If the majority of folks that shot pool refused to do so in smoky environments then you'd see more smoke-free poolhalls, and the government wouldn't have to BAN smoking. The free market can deicde things like this if folks are willing to stick to their guns..

Your recreation of choice has nothing to do with it...I'd like to play golf on courses with no ballmarks left all over the putting greens, and not have to hear others swear at the top of their lungs after they hit their umpteenth ball into a water hazard....this all might cause me stress and shorten my lifespan...maybe the government should - aw forget it!![]()
Big Perm said:I'm on board with Rusty here and I rarely smoke....you ban smoking, you take away another freedom, and what's gonna be next....supply and demand drive business owners to make decisions....while the poll have 70% of pool players here not smoking, I don't think this is indicative of the pool public.....I'd guess more like 50+% smoke....if they don't want smoke, they can prohibit smoking in their place of business...
Couple of similar examples:
Idiots that do 60mph in the left lane on a 65mph freeway when they could easily be in the right, but they'd rather not have to bother with those entering the freeway, and they are too busy beating their kids while talking on a cell phone to notice anyway.....this is a huge negative impact on my life, driving up my blood pressure and shortening my life every day.....these people are everywhere, but is it my right to ban them from the freeway, or if I was in LA, shoot them???
Shows on TV - if ya don't like it, turn the channel. I hate infomercials and those church programs that last 24 hours and have people with 8 coats of makeup, but I don't need to ban them....click, and they are gone.
Obeise people - I hear all the time that obeise people, much like smokers, cost insurance companies money and drive up premiums for the average joe.....do we ban big folks from insurance??? I've got a few big folks in my family, but I still love them.
Kinda got off the beaten path - point is, if ya don't wanna smoke, go places that dont' allow smoking, but I don't know if banning things is the way to go![]()
