This is serious, not a joke.

What is the minimum spot you would have to have to put up a $1,000 of your own money against Shane, and that he would not think was out of line, given your skill level?

I am going to say 10 on the wire, and the 6 ball. (I lost 2 $100 sets to Gabe the last time I played him getting the 6 with no games on the wire, race to 7, but he broke good, and I didn't).
 
Breaks and the hand span.... or 12:1 on the money and we can play some even.

15 going to 20 doesn't sound to horrible either.

Based on a lack of parameters mine would be:

9 ball
race to 7
I break
6 ball wild

Before each shot you can move the cueball in any direction as far as you can stretch your hand. I've seen some somewhat weak players beat pro speed with that spot. Its actually huge when you think about it.;)
 
2 years ago, I almost played Shane in Vegas, I asked for the 6 ball-out and couldnt get it from him for 100 a set. Realistically, I think that would be a fair spot, and I would play him 1000 a set with the 6-7-8, depending on if Im breaking well. If Im not, I want the breaks also. His break and pocketing are too devastating to not have serious weight.
He is without question one of if not the best in the world right now in rotation games like 9 and 10 ball, anyone who plays him even doesnt like their cash too much IMHO.

id play him 10ball race to 8,with the 8,9 and the breaks for $300 a set. id play him 10ball race to 20 with 6on the wire, 8ball, last3 and the breaks for a $1000.but i can only play one set for $1000.id rather play 3-4sets for 300so i can learn more.

All wild...or just the 6? But I break or alternate break. Give him winner breaks and he might win giving up the 2 out...since we might not even get to the table in a race to 7 so the spot would be meaningless.

But with the 6-7-8 wild, alternate break, I'd take a lesson for a bag.

Beware of any game including the "matchbook" spot then. You basically can never be hooked on any ball on the table. Same as hand span, (but less in length), you can move the cue ball in any direction, that length.

It worked for Scotty... it could work for me! :D
 
I think i would have to have all the breaks and the wild eight and nine on a bar box...........also just for a little lock up action my fouls dont count..............

Well ! If I had the money to spare I would play him even, No spots,Winner breaks,race to 50, Only then would I feel that I accomplished somthing should I win! :)

it's supposed to be a huge spot in 1P, from what i hear atleast.
 
I used to spot some players a ball or two in 8 ball, they could shoot the eight in without shooting all of their group off the table. Or they could shoot them all in. Gives the weaker player more options, and they can leave some problem balls on the table.

Myself vs Shane for $1000?, I would need 5 balls. But I have never been much of a money player, thus the explanation for my name.

Bar table 9 ball (race to 9) : The breaks.
Bar table 8 ball (race to 9) : The breaks.
Big table anything: Not interested in finding out..................
 
breaks and ball in hand in 9ball, if we play at my place, on a big pocket 8ft Gandy! he can bet unlimited.
