Young Guns vs Old School

I give the stream quality an A, production a C+, and commentary a solid B, I'll keep the thread updated when the matches start today for you.

jhendri,

I am curious as to what you attributed the C+ for production quality. I am not being critical of your opinion or saying you are wrong, but just curious. This was their first PPV and am sure would like constructive criticism. They have streamed quite a bit in the last few months, but has always been free. A lot of time and money went into the preparation for this event, as everyday I went in there for the past month, they were working to construct the production booth, build seating, adjust camera angles, lighting, etc. I was actually impressed with what you got for the $$$. Yes, at times, you would have liked to zoom in to one particular table, but that to me was trumped by the ability to see everything going on the majority of the time. I seen some of the later comments mentioning the background noise. I am sure there are talks of glassing in the booth to help with that, but may not have been in the budget or time frame for this first event. I know Rich is very dedicated to the promotion of the sport and they plan on doing more and more of these. Talks have already been in the works. Thanks in advance for your input.

My thoughts on the grade I gave for production. A) the stream cut out at the beginning of the final match, this was a production issue not stream quality as it had to do with the expiration of the tickets B) the sound was annoying as you could hear music in the background that sounded like it was played underwater C) the wide angle camera was at an odd angle and was choppy, this was identified as a camera problem therefore production issue D) you could see someone typing in the score blocks changing names etc E) the table lighting was good, but the rest of the lighting was low

I'm grading against all the tv pool I have watched, not against first time productions...remember C+ is slightly above average...not bad for a first time production

If I think of anything else, I'll let you know

Thank you, I'll pass the observations on to Derek.
