"I always wondered do you have to excellerate through the cueball on your final stroke passed the cueball or do you try to keep it the same speed until your arm can not go any further? Thx for any help.

Oh and i was also wondering do you have to keep your wrist straight with your arm that is moving like a pendulum? or can u bend it a bit towards your body?"

This was my first ever post on 06-20-2004. I first picked up a cue in 2004, wanted to learn as much as I could, as quickly as I could. So I went to the internet and tried to find as much as possible about pool and its mechanics.

I then came across this site called AZbilliards...needless to say i've been addicted ever since and probably have viewed this site everyday since then lol. I feel like i'm missing so much without coming on here and reading the latest and greatest stuff :D.

I've also improved dramatically in my pool game and spelling/grammar from AZBilliards. I can't believe that's actually me typing that garbage up there LOL. I've also won a few pool tournaments here and there, including my biggest one which was about $2800.00 bucks, 64player field. I know it's not much, but it's a great accomplishment for me

I don't have much of a post count but I come here just as much as anyone and I love this place, it's great!!

How did you guys come across this place, theres gotta be some good stories from some of you

I would like to know my first post. It only goes back 1000. Very interesting thread to see what everyones first was/is.

I was checking out the BD forums for a while and someone mentioned AZ billiards. Been here ever since:grin:

I think I stumbled onto AZ forums back in 2006. I was searching for something pool related and typed my query into Google and presto there you people were. It was like finding a new world of ..............me's. I did not think of myself as a freak anymore. Just knowing that there are others in the world that lived, studied, thought and dreamed about pool all the time has made me feel not so odd.

Jim~~~~only feels a little weird now.

Funny I looked back and things for me haven't changed at all.

"I'll play. I suck but still love to play!

Larry "

I got off to a bit of a rocky start here on AZB. I had just recently had my rotator cuff surgically repaired and while in recovery I was on a double dose of morphine (my wife said I was complaining profusely of the pain, but I don't remember ever feeling anything, so they give me ANOTHER dose of la-la liquid ) While under the influence I had a dream that C.J. Wiley had died at a young age. I remember (or so I thought) reading about it in the newspaper obits. So when I finally join AZB, the first post I make was "Why isn't anyone talking about C.J. Wiley's death?" The talk at the time was still on Mizerak's untimely passing and I was wondering why NOBODY was mentioning C.J.'s passing. As it should have been, I got ripped by more than a few people for reporting the falsehood (which was in reality an honest mistake). At the time, I actually thought I had read about it, it was so surreal. I felt bad, but everybody forgave me after my explanation in a subsequent post and all has been well every since then.

lol, ouch that's a good one. I can only imagine what some people were saying to you lol.

$2,800 there's not a lot of players who can actualy say they did that in one tourney, of course you know that. Something funny for you, we play in the same area in some of the same tourney's 404's or Silver Tip. I see you play sometimes and say: "look at this guy he works hard at his game and he's now become one of these guys that you can measure your game against" a bit like Mike P., emerging like one of the better local shooters, good for you, especially if you picked-up a cue for the 1st time in 04 that's very decent prgression curve.
