Your shaft size?

Just curious what size shaft you all play with?

I've played for the longest time with probably >12.5mm shaft (skinny due to improper cue shaft care, ie..schotch brite pad). Now I have a new 13.0mm shaft that I've been told will help reduce miscues, not that I make many now, but still. I'm still getting used to the increase in size, even though .5mm seems tiny like it shouldnt matter. I still have the old shaft and feel more precise with I occasionaly practice with it, although I want to get used to playing w/ the larger one.

Any thoughts? Discuss?

I have one thats 12.8 and one thats 12.75, why? Because thats how i like them, thats what you have to go on. What feels the best for you with the best results.

12.2mm on both of my OB-1

I used 12mm on most of my McDermotts.

I feel that I am more accurate with a smaller tip size. Just my personal preferenace. As with anything in this sport it is based on your personal prefereance and what you perform the best with.

i prefer around 13mm

there was a guy in our club, who played with a helmstetter with two 9mm shafts, lol
 
a hair under 12.75mm. if you feel more acurate with the smaller tip use it man. don't let anyone tell you what you should be using. if you keep miscueing change tips or scuff and chalk it more

Last time I checked it was 12.75 on the Predators and 12.85 mm or so on my two custom cues . . . after all, size does matter.

Just couldn't resist could you. My first thought when I saw this thread, was how many posts before someone says something sexual. HA HA!!!!!

I play with a 13....I was watching Parica play on ESPN Classic the other day and it looked like he was using a *Broom Handle*, had to be 14-15 mm.:eek: .

It's good someone practices safe pool and laminates their shaft.;)
 
Well, my wife says I'm as smart as a horse and hung like Einstein! My shafts are all between 11.7 and 12.5mm.

Thank you all for the input. It seems most people prefer a size that is not the cookie cutter shape of 13.0mm. Which is cool. Shaft size is like personalities, everyone is a little different than the next. Cool.
 
My shaft has been smoothen with tongue oil. ;)

Back to topic... I prefer mine lower than 13mm.
