Your thoughts on outrageous cue prices

I never had a midlife crisis. I was miserable as a kid, couldn’t stand other kids. When I hit my mid 20’s things were great.

I made $ when it mattered, did everything a person could want. Zero crisis for me.

Since I turned about 50 I’ve been bored to death. I don’t like getting old, there’s not one thing about it I like. It’s just not working for me. Ofc I’m not gonna off myself, I’ll make the best of it. However I know it’s not gonna be the “golden years” for me-I did that already and it was great!

Maybe. But as we’ve all seen, players change cue sponsors like underwear. They chose their cues based on who’s the high bidder after their contract is up. Not how good a cue plays.

If you ever watch those “whats in the case” videos, 95% of the pros can’t even articulate what they like about a cue and why.
That's true, but it still seems the fan base doesn't care, they are hyped up about the newest Cuetec in Shane's hands. What's in the case -vid would be funny if the pro would say "I dunno, it doesn't suck and the sponsorship feeds my family"

Golden years...life at 78... can't see, pee, chew or screw. Memory shrinks, hearing stinks. I can't do anything like I use to ..however music still sounds great. Getting a used or new re-released Jazz LP never gets old. Getting older works..not getting old. I love every day and every breath of air. I'd never oft.... I enjoy staying around for spite. I hope it pisses everyone off😂.
As for outrageous cue prices.... When I began to scale down I like the slogan.

"outrageous cue prices" ...get one before it's gone. No offer too high.

I shoot with one of these daily and its the best in my opinion. There isn't anything on the market that can beat this. Its price point makes it a secret at just a little over $500. It's just plain for some players. Quality construction, when I screw on the shaft all the logos line up perfectly. It's a nice touch for a production.

It comes with the sigma shaft too.

I’m trying to figure it out. I refuse to give up💪🤩

I have seen videos of pros talking about the products and its obvious for some they don't know the product well. That is something that any pro that has a cue deal should be able to do.

The white maple ones would look good with white maple shafts and the all black one would look good with a carbon shaft. Beautiful sticks. Still there's nothing there that would lead me to pay the 3 to 4 hundred extra.

Most(all?) top pros are not equipment geeks like us on AZ. A few are for sure like Niels who has been to the Longoni shop many times and is well versed in what he uses. He seems to be an exception to most players.

Agreed. I saw this first hand at the APA Worlds last year in Vegas. I am the pro in the booth for McDermott. There was a guy who was between us and another company for carbon shafts. After talking with me he went to another booth to try their shaft. I told him it was a good idea to do that so he could feel the difference. He came back 15 minutes later. He said he wasn't treated well and the "guy in the booth that was doing demos" didn't even know the price of the shaft. He came back and bought a defy partially because of how he was treated. Not to toot my own horn with that story but it is nice to see pros know the product. It shows they care.

Pricing of cues and what you’ll pay for them is dependent on how badly the individual wants it and if he can afford it. Last I knew Southwest had a 12 year waiting list. , Bender, Tasc, Searing, all long

Mezz cues must be by far the best quality Production cues on the planet. They are as solid as any cue I ever played with in my life. Both the Wavy Joint and the United Joint are the best joints in the world, I believe. Most solid feeling cues I ever played with.

The Schon is a close 2nd, but beats the Mezz in the looks department, in my opinion.

All of mezz's proprietary joints are marketing bullshit that add nothing of value.

I highly disagree with your opinion. They are by far the most solid joints I have personally ever felt on a pool cue. And, by the way, the Mezz United Joint shafts will fit on a Schon cue butt for example. It is a 5/16x14 joint.

You have no way of knowing whether the joint is what causes the cue to feel solid or some other part of the construction. You also have no proof that the cues were more solid, you just, 'feel' that they are. Unless you actually do scientific testing on the same cue with different joints, I call BS on the joint having much to do with the feel of the cue. You are buying into the mezz/predator/etc. marketing. You see the big shiny part in the middle and think, 'well obviously this is the reason I can make a ball...'. I'm an engineer by trade and training. I have never heard a scientifically sound argument as to why a effed-up thread like the wavy would help the cue hit.

I can tell you why a big pin might have a different feel than a small pin, but I don't buy that too many people can feel the difference.

But if the kool-aid tastes good to you, guzzle away, sir.

Well you are wrong too. As an admitted engineer by trade and training then you should be more open minded. It's disrespectful to your peers and colleagues to state your above post and the other statements you made on here.
