What are your thoughts on using house cue forearms as handle
Wood on a cue. Yay or nay ..and ..why?...I believe it to be more stable
then the more commonly used straight grain maple and I feel it adds
A solid hit. Also it's a great way to recycle house cues.. Would you be upset if
You found out your cue was made with this construction method?

Totally depends on the quality of the blank. Not better than a laminated handle IMO.
 
If it is old and sturdy, it isn't going to warp. They've already 'made their move' so to speak.
 
Sounds great to me, BUT, I would keep in mind you will have 2 different woods with differend weights. Could lead the cue to be bottom heavy if you are not carefull.
 
Makes for a great handle when using old seasoned wood. My guess is that it's gonna feel quite solid. So many people feel that house cues are garbage and what not. Great use of some old wood as far as I'm concerned. I wouldn't be mad at all if I saw this on my cue.
 
no problem

i buy old brunswick cues from a table restorer 100 cues at a time, i have found some great wood in some of these cues. i have even made a few conversions, and i get a lot of shaft wood from those old cues, but it is just like any other source, there will be bad wood, good wood and some great wood.
i see no problem making handles using the better wood.
 
I believe someone here has used these house cue blank for coring. Should work for a handle as well, as others have said, it all depends on the blank... Let us know how it turns out.
