your weaknesses

Gambling with players who are better than me, when I haven't played in a day, week, or month and still have this ridiculous self-confidence (or stupidity) that I'm going to play at my best level and should beat them. Of course, I'm not asking for weight either. I guess...PRIDE is my greatest weakness.

Yea I never ask for a spot either :) But I almost always find a way to squeeze out of it one way or another.

I dont have any weakness, period. Im a super pro. LOL hmm a big part is inexperience, I have a lot to learn. Im only 2.4 years into my life long plunge :D But right now just taking my time, I miss too many balls that I should pocket the majority of the time just because I don't go and make sure I have the right angle on the shot. Maybe I'm just lazy, yea my main weakness is laziness hehe. I don't want to walk all the way over there to look at the shot, its sooo far :p

Hooters...

Haha. That reminds me of a girl that goes to a local small 8 ball weekly tournament. She pushes them together and lets them almost fall out. They are large Cs :D She actually goes to the bathroom and makes them bulge out more when playing a male opponent. It really does help, she can't play but still manages to beat the closet pervs (all of us) lol.

My break sucks! I should be given the breaks as a handicap from everyone! It would be an advantage to them..................

Are you kidding me...your break has made my ears ring on numerous occasions, no exaggeration.

Here's the list I'm working on now!:d

> I shoot best at a quick pace, so I try to make my shot selection slowly, but shoot the actual shot at a quick pace...if that makes sense?

> I have to stop playing shape on 1 ball at a time!, and have a more concise plan when breaking out clusters.

> I really need to work on twisting the knife. For most of my pool career I was really too nice of a player.

> oh, and missing.......that pesky little one shouldn't take long to fix!:D

what are your weaknesses in the game?

I rarely take the defensive option when I'm playing...feel like I always have to try for the shot.

I need to work more on the strenght control. Its either a little bit too soft or too hard and that is pityless for positionning control.

women in tight chothes ..o god .i hate shootin at that side when thay are there about to shoot...

I rotate between all of the weaknesses listed by everyone above. As soon as I realize that I'm doing (or not doing, as the case may be) one of them and fix it, then another one sneaks in on me. Then it will take me a while to figure out which one it is now. Then fix that one and another one comes in. Repeat, repeat, repeat. sheesh.

Where should I start?

I sometimes forget to stay down on my shot.

I can't make a ball consistently on my 8/9 ball break.

My banks need improvement.

My cuts need improvement.

My safeties need improvement.

I often forget to chalk between shots.

I don't see the eight ball run out patterns like I should.

I have trouble maintaining concentration.

My English is inconsistent.

I'm sure I've missed a bunch, but I don't want to be too hard on myself. :)

Grip & Partners

#1) My grip...still experimenting. I'm able to shoot well with many different versions...but still looking for my "final" grip...

#2) Too competitive for casual play--especially partners. I've told myself that I WILL NOT play partners anymore (especially with my wife). Two weeks ago I'm playing partners and my partner is about to shoot a bank shot. I tell him, whatever you do, don't shoot that shot...even if you make it we lose (because he would end-up breaking out their last ball).

The guy shoots it anyway...makes it....knocks out their last ball...misses the next shot and the other team is out... That was the first time that I was almost too mad to shake my opponent's hand(s) (even though I was not mad at them). NO MORE PARTNERS! CAN"T TAKE IT! (Really brings out the worst in me...LOL.)

When I get up on a player I always tend to let them back in the match. After all their B****ing and complaining about how lucky I'm getting or how they just can't play that day or whatever. I always tend not to have the killer instinct and just keep playing as hard as i can. I dog balls more often, I shoot a bit quicker hoping that they don't get out and dog a 7 ball or something (which never happens by the way.... ) BUt then I always end up even at the end of the night. Need to start kicking the dog when he's down right? Hope I'm not the only one like this.....

Tony.

Confidence kills.

I tend to take a relatively easy shot for granted.....and miss easy shots as a consequence.

I also have a really bad habit of playing to my opponent's ability.

I wish I could better practice Mika's "mercy is a disease".

I can't pocket balls or play position. I can't kick or play safe a lick.
Besides that, I'm ok.
OK, I have ADD and hypoglycemia too. Meaning I have near zero concentration for anything that takes more than 2 seconds.

Thanks for the compliment!

Seriously though, the break is the weakest part of my game. Most of the time I am playing against top notch competition and as my break goes, so goes the match.

I give away freebies from losing control of rocky. If I am controling the pill on the break, I will win 95% of the time.

My job.
It hinders my game more than anything else, except lack of talent.
So, basically, if I had ANY talent, and no job, I'd be a C+ player.

i think i can sum up my pool weaknesses in one word:

ALCOHOL

someday i'll quit, i hope.

Alcohol isn't as much a pool weakness to me, as it is a GAMBLING weakness.

Which explains why I am all too often BROKE.

I HEAR YA BROTHER!!!!!!!!!! Lord let me start knockin a few back and I start Wolfin' up games I couldnt win sober. My mouth starts runnin and runnin and my skill level drops to unbelieveable lows. Its a shame. Then the next day I always say Ill never do that again. Repeat.

Fundamentals. I'm a perfectionist for things like this, and no matter how well I'm playing I always see and focus on the things I'm doing wrong.

1. jack up game (hitting over a ball)
2. one rail kicks
3. long combos
4. breaks
5. straight shots
6. too much english for leaves
7. caroms
8. banks
9. ducks (sometimes I don't even look at the pocket)

Other than that, I'm pretty good! :)
