Eydie and I will be holding an online baby shower for Mike Zimmerman's twins. No, it is not my husband, Mike Zimmerman, or I would be in shock if I were having the twins. I feel like an auntie!

Here is how it is going to work. We will post this as a sticky. Zim and his wife can register at Babies R Us, Walmart, Target, Nordstrom, wherever, and report back and let us know so we can post the list or at least the link to it.

Everyone that wants to participate sends a WRAPPED gift to an address near Zim that Watchez supplies. Please make sure to sign with your online name as well as your real name, if you want. Watchez has generously offered to drive the gifts over.

I don't see a lot of gifts coming in at first, but over the next few months, as we might know the sex of the babies and their names, their family should get some goodies from his 'family' at AZB. As he said, lots of ebony and curly maple cues are in order! :D

In return, Zim needs to update us monthly, at least, about the progress of the pregnancy.

Eydie, did I forget anything?

Also, I request that all gifts be sent either UPS or FedEx so that there is tracking involved. How can I say this without it coming off rude....I have no problem collecting & delivery for Mike & his twins but I also don't want to have any problems in doing so. I don't want someone to say they sent a gift & then there be a question of whether or not I received it. If you send me a PM when shipping a gift, I will return a PM when the gift is received. Make sure you tell me your real name in the PM.

Remember, when sending your gift, that Mike is having TWINS. That means if you are going to send one bib...you better send two.

If anyone can think of any other questions, let me know.

Linda ~ Great Job, you are the best!

The only thing I can think of is that if you don't have one of those stores by you or you just don't like to shop, Gift Certificates ROCK! They can be sent directly from the store to Watchez VIA UPS or FedEx.

Zim and Eva are great people. They have 2 other children, one who is (I think in his teens now) and the other is around 2 yrs old. So, twins will be a lot for them on a limited budget.

Zim does so much for the sport and this pool community. I don't know of anyone more deserving to have the kindness of others from this forum participate.

In addition, Zim has a web site in which he sells different items. I implore anyone who is looking for product to FIRST visit his web site to see if he carries it. This would help out the family financially.

WOW!! I can't believe that an online shower has been started for Eva and I. You all are too generous! Thanks to all involved in setting this up! I'll be sure to post updates once in a while on this thread.

Eva and I have a simple family, we don't go overboard on things, just keeping life simple. We are definatly gift certificate people, as suggested. We didn't register anywhere for our last child, but we haven't really discussed it for the TWINS. If nothing else, I could give a list of places available in our area for shopping (in case people want to do the gift certificate idea). We really didn't expect an online shower, it's not necessary, but deeply appreciated! As Eydie mentioned, we do have 2 other boys; Victor- 13 yrs and MJ- 22 mos. (as of today).

Please do Watchez a huge favor... keep the packages small! He doesn't need to rent a UHaul when we meet, haha!

Again, thanks to Linda, Eydie and Watchez for organizing this and to everyone else who contributes.

If someone wants to send a swing set, a trampoline, a big screen TV so his kids can watch cartoons, or a new mini van to hall all these kids around in---I will make sure that it gets to Zim.

Okay, Eva and I were talking last night about registering at different places. We will register at different stores at the end of August/early September. She will be 3-3.5 months along at that time. We will find out if they are boys, girls, or both and let everyone know.

She is doing fine, a few "growing" pains is about all.

Thanks again to everyone for doing this. I think this is the first time I've ever seen this and we are touched by the generosity from you all.

Thanks again,
Zim & Eva

UPDATE 28July06--

We had another Dr's appt. today and everything is going well. BOTH are growing like normal and their heartbeats are great. We did an ultrasound and were able to see both, but still can't tell their sexes or if they are identical or not, yet!

More updates will come...

Thanks again,
Zim

UPDATE AUG 10, 2006--

We had an ultrasound done yesterday and everything looks good for the little ones. Eva is doing okay, other than morning/afternoon/night sickness, fluctuating appetite and a little discomfort.

More info to come...

Thanks,
Zim

Good for you guys! Is this not a sticky anymore? Where did you register?
Thanks! I noticed last week that it's not a sticky anymore. That's when I added a link to this thread on the front page of my website, www.zimsrack.com at the top of the "Latest News" section.

UPDATE: Sep. 12, 2006

We had another ultrasound done yesterday, along with the amniocentices. Everything went well, Eva is doing better, the TWINS are doing fine and growing as normal. We should know what the the sex is in a couple of weeks. We wont know for sure if they are fraternal or paternal until they come out. They each have their own placenta, which usually means that they are not identical, but it's still possible.

Thanks again to all and I'll post the registry info about 1st-2nd week of October (after we know what we are having and have registered).

Thanks,
Zim and Eva

Zim ....

there is nothing 'simple' about 4 kids ... lol Especially when the younger 3 get to be teenagers!!! My brother had 4 children that were teenagers at the same time, and went through 18 vehicles with them before they left home .... lol

UPDATE: OCT 04, 06

Hello everyone,

We've had several people asking if we plan to register anywhere for the TWINS, so last weekend we went to a few places and registered. As you all may/may not know, we are pretty simple parents, so we registered for simple things. We could always use diapers, wipes, onesies, formula and bibs. We currently use the Target or Wal-Mart brand diapers and wipes and will continue to with the TWINS. Similac Advance Powder will be the formula that we will feed the TWINS with.

We are registered at Babies R' Us, Target and Burlington Coat Factory. Wal-Mart has many things as well, but we don't plan to register there. We will have the high chairs, crib/bed, stroller and car seats ready for their arrival in February.

Thanks to everyone and we'll keep you posted on the TWINS,
Zim, Eva, Victor, MJ and soon arriving- Arianna and Evita

UPDATE: OCTOBER 26, 2006...

We've had some complications over the past couple of weeks, but things are looking better for Eva and both of the girls. Eva is on bed rest until January 1, 2007, which will put her at 33 weeks and the Doctor's think the girls will be here around that time or a little earlier.

I have closed up the cue shop (except for repairs at tournaments), am spending a large majority of my time helping Eva and making sure she and the girls are doing okay. It's critical that she doesn't deliver before week 28 (even better if she makes it to week 30)! The Gateway Amateur 9-Ball Tour 2007 has started and I'm still running that and the Zim's Rack 8-Ball League... they wont stop!

We are planning on opening a Pro-Shop/Retail Store the Summer of 2007.

Keep Eva and the twins in your prayers and we'll talk soon.
Zim
