Zyler Cue F/S or Trade

Not real sure what to ask for this cue. Watching the one for sale here on AZ that compares to it. Expect it should bring close to if not more than the original new price. Will consider trade offers on cues originally priced new in the 1K to $1500 price range. This cue has what I believe would be considered to be upgrades, buck horn or stag butt cap and buck ferrules and joint. Cue has a few chips in the finish as shown, nothing into the wood. I have cleaned the shafts and added a new Wizard tip to the shaft with the worn tip. Any experts out there that can add info. on the cue components and fair market price is appreciated. Will include a close up of the ring work in a future post, just beautiful. Of coarse the cue is dead straight. Prefer cash as I have a bunch of new cues arriving shortly.
Butt weight - 14.6 oz.
Shafts - 3.7 and 3.6 oz. and tips are 12.5 mm and 12.75 mm
Butt - Bacote w/Curly Birdseye maple grip
Butt Sleeve - Bacote w/ fancy trim ring

Kerry would have priced that cue at $950 plus $200 for the stag buttsleeve.
The buckhorn ferrule was about $35 option over the standard Ivor-X.
Looking at the inserts, this cue must have been made around 2005 or earlier.
I was working for Kerry when he started using those Delrin inserts.
They are threaded on and epoxied, so they won't slip.
He used black and white so you could tell which shaft is which.
The forearm is solid bocote. Not cored.
There is no metal in that cue except the pin.
The ring dashes are made of second Atlas's micarta which you can't get anymore.
The borders are true double black phenolic.
From the pics, it looks like Kerry's standard taper.
The butt is about the same size as a Tad but the joint will be thicker ( around .850 ).
It's a solid player. It will feel like a solid one-piece cue .
It is a collectible piece of course as Kerry passed away last year.
There is only maybe less than 10 bocote Z's out there.
Btw, the trademark is zylr.

Thanks Much!

Thanks Joey, for the detailed description. Only reason I'm selling it is, I just bought another one of your cues and have a few more new cues arriving soon. Keep up the great work. Just won a tournament last night with the Purple heart cue of yours I used. It doesn't get any better. Had two offers to buy the cue after the tourney. That's a first, the word is out.

Ring Detail

Here is the photo I promised of the ring work detail. There are four super thin gold colored (brass) rings and the fancy Micarta indexed ring Joey mentioned. The detail is incredible. As mentioned earlier, the worn tip has been replaced with a new Wizard medium. Have some interest, but cue is still available.

Price?

Lots of interest in this cue. Have settled on a price of $1250 firm. That should be close, considering the cues rarity and materials used. Looking at some trade + cash offers but prefer this to be a cash transaction if possible. I feel these cues will someday bring 2 to 3 times their original cost due to limited availability, not to mention how well they play and the superior craftsmanship.

Buyer!

Still available! Have a buyer that will take it next month, if it is available at that time. No deposit has been made to hold it, so PM me if interested.

That ebay cue didn't have all the bells and whistles that Kerry offered...it had a Delrin buttcap and Ivor-X ferrules, some difference there between buckhorn buttcap ($200) and ferrules ($70). Even though, the ebay buyer got a real steal. This is a great cue, and that straight grained Bocote looks like a great hitting, major player. Good luck with your sale!
:p

Thanks!

Thanks Rayjay for seeing the difference. The buyer of his cue did indeed get a bargain. The bacote in this cue is excellent and quit rare for a Zyler. Not to mention the full package stag components as well. This cue is NOT on hold, although I have buyer that has told me he will take it, if still available in August.

For Sale!

This cue is still for sale. Prospective buyer does not respond to PM's. This cue is available for a limited time, I will then enjoy playing it myself. This is a great investment grade cue.

Available?

Yes, I still have this cue available. Many trade offers, but nothing I had to have. A cash sale would be preferred at this time. PM me with offers.

It's Still Here!

Don't see Zyler's offered for sale very often. This one will not be offered much longer.

Tip!

One shaft needed a new tip. Installed a new Wizard tip on it, plays great. This cue is sitting in my private collection, needs to be played.
