    WTT: OB classic 30" uni-loc

I have a shaft I'd like to trade. I have a 30" OB classic with a uni-loc collar that I'd like to trade for a 29" Predator 314-2 uni-loc. I have a 29" 314 that I stuck in my bag for the last 4 months to try out this new 30" shaft. I thought the longer shaft would help, but after taking out my...

    Predator Quite Roller 1 CHEAP!

Playability How does it hit compared to all the SS jointed uni-loc's? I don't believe Im in the market today, but I'd appreciate any info you have particularly if youve played a Predator much in the past.

    Best Shaft Thickness???

12.75 Kind of hard to go against the 12.75 standard that Predator and OB use. Ive got one that has be worn down to 12.2-12.5 range and is ready for replacing. I think it is a good size to stick with and seems as close to a standard aside for the stock 13mm as youre going to find.

    Masse Cue

Masse shot in league play I happen to think they are a useful play in league play every once in a while, particularly with 8 ball. I would tend to agree that it is usually a low percentage play, and would go as far as to say its almost always a bad play in 9 ball. I play a couple of masse...

    Break techniques

I should mention I play 8 ball almost exclusively, so a slow break isn't really a great play. A little 9 ball for fun, but not much. I feel like I can control the ball pretty well with a little weight shifting forward. Not so much like Archer, where you really fly through the ball and leave...

    Break techniques

I know there are entire videos dedicated to improving your break, but I really like one I got watching a Youtube clip of HillBilly Bryant. I figured trying to copy his break would be useless mainly cause the guy is so much stronger than most players. I can't necessary replicate his technique...

    Outside english on cut shots...

Throw I find that when the balls are picking up a lot of throw (older set or a bit dirty) some cuts seem to have a small margin of error if you dont compensate for throw. So you have to cut it a bit thinner and then the throw doesn't take as much. It seem like the close side of the pocket is...

How do you clean up the Pool Table?

Vaccuum I used a vaccuum with an attachment that has rotating brushes powered by a little impeller. This is probably too aggressive for most people, but it isn't motorized like the actual vaccuum head and light finger pressure stops the brushes from moving. I used Bondo on the joints of my...

    WTB: Cheap 60" Cue

how about $135 I would personally go with a Schmelke if it were a rental the link below is for the cheapest cue with a laminated shaft (+20), linen wrap (+17), and the extra length (+20). They also offer a 31" butt, but I didnt see a 31" butt and 29" shaft as an online option but I would think...

    Best Option for Second Cue?

Predator Im not sure Id put a predator on a players. That was my first cue as well and that was also my budget for my second cue. I had a few people warn me about a players not being well built enough and putting $200 into a cheap chue would be a bad investment. I found a used predator for...

    Aramith Ball's Number Placement

8 ball rack Somebody once told me to use the 4 (the purple one, not the pink tv ball) at the top of the rack if you are racking for you opponent. I never got too carried away with it though. Just today I tried facing the number to the break spot to give myself a better aiming point. All that...

    Aramith balls

Anyone have any input about the different types of Aramith balls. It would be for residential use. I had pretty much assumed I'd get the Super Pro set, but now there is a tournament set that appears to be better on some infantesimal level (for the record I've never successfully used that it a...

    First cue advice

Cue accessories If Viking has a weight bolt kit I'd splurge for that, if not oh well. Id try the Lepro for a little while, but a good layed tip will make a big difference. A lot of the people who think layered tips aren't any better have a much better stroke than you or I. Medium to medium...

Question for Dr. Dave about CTE, and Facting in Spin, or English

Not a CTE user but I have read backhand english is the perfect compliment. Seems logical, being that you can adjust for english after your CTE pivot. As long as you don't get so confused with all that pivoting you make a pokey stroke.

Doctor Dave is way too modest!

I agree I think he honestly just loves the game and gives back to the game with his attempts to help people understand it. The amount of free billiards info he gives out far exceeds anything I have seen. I don't know if he makes much with his DVD sales, but I suspect any proceeds go back to...

    Samsara up for offers

Samsara cues From everthing I've heard about the guys cue making history, and the pictures Ive seen why don't his cues go like hot cakes? Is it a supply related problem? Is there just more cache with certain names like Scruggs, Searing, Omen, (insert name here)? I am trying to understand why...

    Titlist Convertion for sale

Educate me please Do titleist cues offer an exceptionally firm hit? What little I know about older cues is that the wood seems to harden over time. I'm not sure if there is anything to it, or if the grade of maple was higher than what is available now. A little info from an expert would be...

    Samsara J/B tip

Great tip I think everyone should get one for their break cue. The minor difference in speed you gain from phenolic is a major drop in control. Fantastic tip, I wish I had a playing tip that was as far ahead of the competition.

    combo pool table dinning table

If that option is too expensive They make conversion tops for pool tables. There is a lift mechanism in the Fusion tables that make them quite a bit expensive. If you are OK with a dining table that's a little on the high side (buy some higher chairs) just look up pool table dining tops...
