What's your APA 8-ball Skill Level?

more high skill levels create more teams. I will say i know of 7s that one could give the other the 5 ball playing 9 ball.

What's your APA 8-ball Skill Level?

LOL at that many people being 7s in comparison. To me a 7 should be a 'Regional Player'. Instead its just one of the best in his room. I would imagine this board attracts better players but i just see this as how evident it is that its easy to be a 7

Why can't other pros break like Shaw and Shane?

I was in vegas years ago and I was practicing late night, early morning and Shane was a few tables away. I practiced for probably 2.5 hours. He broke the balls over and over the entire time.

Breaking 9-ball on bar table - Spotting location?

If you only break from one place on the bar table or any table you will be beaten repeatedly. I break from where I make a ball. I use different speeds. I look at how the rack is trmwisted or balls with gaps, high low whatever. There isn't a secret spot. I would start someone 1 diamond from the...

    Scotty Townsend stories

Memphis I have a couple but the first is when he came to the super bowl tournament in Memphis. He was wearing boots, black jeans, a white t shirt, and a black leather vest. His apparel will come into play later. He showed up around 4-5 Friday afternoon and started drinking. All weekend he was...

Do you prefer to gamble on a bar table or 9 footer?

I don't see where the size of the table should get in the way of the game anyway. Hard enough making a game without disputing the size of the table. 1st post in a long time.

Enhancing the "Mental Game" of Pool - What's the Best Way?

A friend of mine once asked me how to get over being nervous gambling. I said "go bust". He simply replied "isn't that what I'm trying not to do", "yes but it's what you are scared of, go bust and you will see it's not that bad. Then you can start from there" Little off subject but I feel anyone...

What is the best production break cue?

Predator and mezz use a pad under the phenolic with I personally think make them more forgiving. That said, breaking 18-23 mph with a shooting cue with a hard tip is the nuts compared to something you can't control. Picking something close to what you play with will do just fine. Hard leather...

A level player in the mind... C level in the execution... what to do?

Do you where glasses? Also if I am jawing balls I would look at the deflection in my shaft and make sure that I am being very deliberate in aiming. I say that because if you are really bearing down on each shot it will allow you to see if you are consistently missing the same way. If so, I'd...

    bad stroke with hard draw

Remember to accelerate to a firm stroke not sling into it. sounds simple but its something that when you feel what i'm saying its like 'oh ok'. also use those last few timing practice strokes to give yourself a feel of body position in practice. if you can't trace your alignment when you final...

Potential pro caliber players in APA league

The whole reason for playing league is to get better and compete. maybe it should be more like little league where they don't keep score. then no one has to lose. they can just bang balls around for 5 games, pay 8 bucks and go home
