I'll second the motion that this field is a big disappointment.

By the usual standards of this event, which has typically featured the superstars of nine ball, this field is super-weak. Yes, by scheduling this at the same time as the Predator event, the dates of which were known almost a year ago (as it always coincides with the BCAPL National Championships in Las Vegas) they will have to go to bat with just two of the top 15 based on Fargo rate and none of the Top 5. A Cinderella might just walk away with this title, with most of the big guns absent and several entrants having accomplished little to nothing in the 2025 WNT ranking events.

All these points aside, the PLP should still be a nice event. The timing here is quite unfortunate, but I wish the very best to all of the participants. May the best man win!

I’m just going by what experts that buy and sell cues told me. I’m playing with house money right now so I’m betting they are right. Hopefully one of my children, or grandkids, will inherit a valuable pool cue to do with as they choose since it’s theirs.

I did, but the OP is travelling with his wife and daughter, so his considerations are different. If he's going to do the non-Strip stuff, being near the Strip might not be useful. I like booking.com which includes all kinds of places. It is sometimes best to discover the hotel on a booking site and them call them directly. Booking.com sometimes gets deals that the hotel doesn't offer directly.

The particular place I found before a mile west of the Strip seems to have wildly varying prices depending on the dates.

My recollection of BCAPL rules was anything deemed unsportsmanlike fell to the judgment of the referee. The referee could award game or set or even expulsion from event. Some even got never again in a BCAPL event.
