PBS St Louis 2026 (Men’s World 8 Ball Championship, Mixed Doubles, Women’s Open, Bank Pool), 1-8 April, Half Million Prize Fund

The camera work in this event is quite poor. They seem to lack the understanding that seeing the ball go into the pocket is important, but in many cases it’s even more important to see where the cue ball is going afterwards.

There have been numerous times where they just show a zoomed in view of the pot and never pan out to show the rest of the shot.

This Is What I'm Talking About

I think @AtLarge data shows the #s are in the 30-35% range...an inconsequential difference for us hacks.

The out pictured is on the low end of difficulty. Pros would be very likely to get out from there all day. I, not so much.
World class percentages at 30 to 35%.

I think it was Bustamante who said he never broke and ran more than a 7 pack in competition....
I did, on a big pocket Gold Crown 9 footer for a $10 set. It took being able to shoot PLUS a lot of work on my break.

Anthony Milanesi Ebony Cue

Anthony Milanesi Ebony cue.Recently refinished by Anthony. I inadvertently put a scratch in the butt sleeve which is shown in one of the pictures. Unplayed since the refinish.

Cue comes in a great weight for an Ebony cue. Has a belly lizard wrap, and 2 Ferruleless shafts very similar to the Black Boar ferruleless shafts.
Cue plays amazing and was my player for a period of time. I've seen got a new cue from Anthony. Slim butt taper which I personally love.

Butt - 14.6oz
2 Ferruless shafts - 3.9oz and 3.5oz at 12.85mm
5/16x14 SS Joint
58"

$2,250

How do LOW-COST CARBON FIBER SHAFTS Perform Compared to the Best?

I bought the Rhino shaft 2-3 years ago when it first made all the hoopla on these forums. It had noticeably higher CB deflection than any Predator shaft I've ever played, including 314-1's. I put it back in the box and its been sitting there since. I would have made it my "leave in the car year round cue" if it was the same.

IDK if I buy the results. Did they change the shaft design?
Dr Dave found Rhino had "off-the-charts" deflection for about 20% of hits and was due to a soft Time Crystal tip (video 6:00 minutes). The owner of the shaft had not found that and Dr Dave figured the differences were due to owner's jabbing stroke as opposed to Dr Dave's smoother, accelerating stroke. Dr Dave figured that the large deflection would not have occurred if another cue-tip brand or harder Time Crystal had been used.

What tips did you have on your Rhino that had high deflection? You probably did not have the blue Time Crystal but there have also been complaints about Rhino's earlier brown tip.

This Is What I'm Talking About

This dude is too concerned about breaking and running. There's soooooo much more to the game than that. The best players in the world break and run about 25% of the games on average. I'm not sure why he thinks his percentage should be equal to that for an amateur.

Spoiler Alert: Pool is hard.
Correct...
You are either a run out threat or not.

If not...you better work on not selling out when you miss, playing strong safeties and managing racks until you have a that you can get all the way out.

It can take a couple years of actual work to move someone from his level to a guy I might offer the 7 out to....and I'm nobody. Probably a 650 shooter now.
