A competent mechanic can get the nose height correct but the fact is, moden K55 rubber is 1/8" bigger that the Monarch SuperSpeed cushions that the tables were originally equipped with. Without modifying the subrail, you lose the 2:1 ratio playing surface. You wind up with 49.75" x 99.75" vs 50" x 100". Some think this is not a big deal while others (like myself) want the playing surface the correct size and ratio.Classic billiard site claims that Brunswick superspeed is interchangeable with all GC1or2 tables without negative effects. They say that it is a myth that K55 cannot be used on such tables. IDK - just saying what I read today - everyone seems to have an opinion - as a guy looking now for a GC myself - I sure would like to know the reality in case I find a GC requiring new rubber.
Conditions? 25 - 12 day 1 Oscar.Oscar definitely didn't play his top speed. He looked "off". Maybe it was the"conditions". Maybe something else.
Sometimes you just don't have it that day/ weekend.
Would be interesting to see if they rematch at Hard Times.
Raulito could definitely play.
That's a Gold Crown I.If it is truly a GCII,and the cushions are shot, would changing the bevel be as simple as running the rails through a table saw? Is there enough rail there? I mean to shave off the wood to change the angle? I did notice in the pictures the aprons look to be painted.
Thanks again,
John
