Lowest deflection kielwood

you guys got me interested into this kielwood stuff, so I ordered one to come along with the custom cue I asked a builder to make for me. I will have the shaft down to 11.8mm with a soft tip and acrylic ferrule since garczar got me concerned about the sound thing. the cue wood choices are spalted tamarind and rosewood. handle would be rosewood and the butt would be a spalted tamarind with 2 personalized logo (front and back) embedded with abalone inlays. rings are also abalone inlays. the forearm would be spalted tamarind base with rosewood veneers/with white and black lining. the other cue I would use with it is a hard maple cored amboyna burl cue.

Thoughts ... Russian Kenny is out of prision

2ND CHANCES ARE FOR SUCKERS! 😂
Known Kenny since I 1st saw him at the green room over in Jersey around 2002 or so, at their monday night tournament. He has been annoying since day 1.
And I actually don't mind him as a person now because he's less annoying than he used to be.
But the ONLY thing that has really changed in that time, is that he can actually play pool now.

If you bet this guy and a 3rd party neutral person isn't holding the post money, you are a straight up retard.

Just saw this get posted up on FB.
I wonder what the story is on how he robbed THIS guy. 😂

Just a matter of time before he ends up back in the can for something. 😂

Pallet of new cues for sale at 20 cues per box for $100 ($5/cue) --- Comments?

all wood goes down with the right grade of good sand paper. the cheap stuff wears off the paper too quickly and your then sanding with nothing.
Seriously. I used this Gator brand paper from Walmart. Didn't clog at all. Made enough dust. I gave up about a quarter way from original to pro taper; essentially, no effect.

If it is truly a GCII,and the cushions are shot, would changing the bevel be as simple as running the rails through a table saw? Is there enough rail there? I mean to shave off the wood to change the angle? I did notice in the pictures the aprons look to be painted.
Thanks again,
John
That looks like a GC1. Used commercially probably for decades since it has a #11 on it.

Yes, wood only needs to be removed to fix the bevel angle to work with the new SuperSpeeds. There are a few mechanics here that do it, they might give you the proper angles over the phone if you can reach out.

I think most of the guys might use a circular saw with a fixture that rides in the featherstrip groove, rather than a tablesaw. But I'm not certain on that. I'm not a mechanic, just a super interested in all aspects of tables player.

Classic billiard site claims that Brunswick superspeed is interchangeable with all GC1or2 tables without negative effects. They say that it is a myth that K55 cannot be used on such tables. IDK - just saying what I read today - everyone seems to have an opinion - as a guy looking now for a GC myself - I sure would like to know the reality in case I find a GC requiring new rubber.
To be fair, I don't think I've ever played on a GC1/2 that had non factory cushions. (I def played on plenty with the factory cushions, even last year, that played awesome.)

I'm going by what I read on here over the years, and stories of belt sanding the rails to use K66, or put K55 and have the wrong size and/or wrong cushion angle, etc etc.

Jerry Briesath Life Story Interview is Now Live on “Legends of the Cue”

I've never taken a lesson from Jerry.

Nor have I heard him talk about this.

So, having said this, is Jerry one of those instructors that advocates rolling balls down the table to make you a much improved, really good player?

r/DCP
I can't say but Jerry often asks his students, at the outlet of a lesson/clinic, "I'm sure you are here to learn how to control the _______", Invariably the response will be, "well the cue ball of course." Jerry will be quick to respond, "No, the only thing you can control is the CUE STICK!" And, he teaches it well!
