possible. i don't have facebook/instagram, maybe there's some more flesh there

Not sure if you're on FB, but Ignacio said on the hill-hill rack he missed the 2 ball but fluked the 8 ball. So maybe Yapp was simply upset at the fortunate roll by Ignacio and there really wasn't any "controversy". FB comments didn't reveal anything else.

Interesting. All I know is this blog initially posted that Yapp won (it has since been updated showing Yapp lost). So maybe Ignacio protested something after Yapp pocketed that last 9 ball? Just speculation, but interesting the initial report showed that Yapp won.

List of pro players who stick to wood as their playing shaft

12.4 revo.. the one that existed at the time. z3 beat it and 314-3 wasn't far behind despite IT having bigger diameter.

there is nothing wrong with "cutting down trees". jfc..

Fwiw, I play with Z3 and Ob pro+ shafts and I haven't played with anything lower deflection. I tried a 12.2 Ignite that deflected way more.

I think at this point, it's pretty clear that CF has plenty of benefits vs wood and vice versa, but lower deflection is definitely not one of them.

Again, 46% of the top pros are using wood still. I think the difference is pretty negligible.

Was old school straight pool different ….interesting video

I think one of the things the old masters knew and capitalized on was the simple fact that the more balls you keep around the rack area the higher your chances of having a break ball naturally occur or being in a position that you can bump it into place for a break shot.

Somewhat obviously, when you blast 30% or more of the rack to the far end of the table, or even just to the rails, that's 30% fewer balls you have to work with to get into the next rack. Plus your CB is traveling a lot less. Perhaps with the growing popularity of 9ball players got more comfortable going to the far end of the table.

Mark Wilson told me he saw Crane do an exhibition where he racked the balls and let someone in the audience pick out which ball they wanted him to use for his next break ball.

Neat. That would be like playing 1 cushion conservatively compared to like a 3c player.

Clearly the ref doesn’t know how to rack- really embarrassing for The event. Shane was very respectful explaining to him

was that the same arab ref that did the melling v biado match? melling was down on the shot, ref said TEN! melling then back stroked and the ref said FIVE! one second after the first exclamation. lol. melling made the ball but it was a delicate position needed. missed position and lost the rack. he scolded the ref afterwards
