3D Printed Cue Extension

Does someone know which thread this is and how to draw it in FUSION 360 or maybe where I find STEP file to import and use it.

Thanks in advance,
Robert
In fusion, you can also import a canvas [image] of the thread and get the offset faces just about perfect on the first try. Most things require the thread pitch, and then offsetting 4 different faces somewhere between .1 and .3. You can get things looser or tighter with almost no test prints.

FWIW, I print 8" extensions that are barely 40g. I print the bumper in pla. It works fine. It doesn't need to be TPU because you take the extension after using it.

New flexible collet design

Nice. Shouldn't there be a Purpleheart break shaft in that machine?
😁

And risk it on an un-tested tool?? no way, but here you go.

This is what I meant about getting the collet over the ferrule that is still oversized. I couldn't do this with the stiff fixed sized collets.

Ironically, I just saw a video from Cue Maker Supply offering a new normal style set but in the flexible material, so that is an option if you don't like this style.

Predator Revo Shaft 12.4mm WVP 29 inch VS 30 inch difference

I have both. They play and feel exactly the same. The only difference is you have 1” of extra room on the butt cap if you are taller and need it.

I’ve also had both lengths of the 314 series and the same was true there.

Yeah, this. I had both at one time as well and noticed no difference other than one was an inch longer.

I'm not playing Revos anymore but I am now firmly in the 30" camp just because it seems a better fit for me and that 1" difference feels like a bigger difference when it comes to running out of room on the cue when taking my stance. All my playing shafts are now 30" and don't suspect I'll ever go back.

Do you ever get the feeling that the Fargo Rate of a player just does not seem right?

Nice thing about being up in years the desire to got to local Bars or Rooms to compete is gone. Figured out even if you win the hours spent v/s money won just dont justify the effort, gas, aggravation, and dealing with BS.

Arizona Rating System was like Fargo, as one guy said the BETTER I GOT, the HIGHER I WAS RATED, the Less Tournaments I could play.

Working hard, getting better, was rewarded with being removed from opportunity to compete, and got to point only OPEN TOURNAMENTS (NO Handicapped) were open to him.

FARGO or AZ RATING System all have faults.

JMHO
Pool is not an investment, its entertainment. If you look at it as anything other than entertainment its probably not the pastime for you.

$1.5M first place prize for Chinese tournament next week

Pretty good overview of Wu's journey: https://www.facebook.com/share/p/18ZQtFSPgr/. The second half is basically paraphrasing what he said in the post-match interviews.

I found this part very interesting
45 Days of Silence
Before 2026, Wu trained for 45 days in secrecy with Xue Zhenqi.

I feel like you don't often hear about direct competitors training like this together (outside of practicing for doubles), especially in the US.

profoundly stupid question

OK- I have a mancave/barndominium 150 yards from house that the Lord gives me great peace in. Diamond professional 8'. I take great care of my stuff...keep my pool room pretty spotless.......My 14 year old daughter had a few friends over and wanted to go shoot pool with her friends...without dad, of course......

What say ye?
Absolutely let her and her friends shoot pool, just find a way to explain the ground rules like no food/drinks on the table, ever!!!! Put away your best cues, ask them if any have ever played pool before and spend 5 minutes going over the basics. My kids are adults now but whenever we have company and end up on the table I leave all of my cues out and let people know they are free to use any cue. I also let them know that the nicer looking ones are more expensive and its easy to damage a cue if it falls over and lands on the ground, just be careful with them. More often than not people choose the house cues even if I offer something better.

Temu HOW tip

Correct me if I am wrong but I believe there is more than just one "Chinese" language variant vs one English that I know of. I also believe that English is probably the most popular second language so I have a hard time believing that it would be that tough to find someone to translate it. Not to mention things like computers and AI that may be able to help. If one has the means to manufacture tips its hard to believe that the task of correctly translating what you write on said tips would be that much more difficult. Just sayin.

On the first point, my understanding is there one written form of Chinese. The characters are ideographic (representing ideas of the word) and don’t sound out the words at all. So a Cantonese speaker would have a different spoken word than a Mandarin speaker but they would write the word the same way. (I also believe there is also a simplified vs traditional form of the writing, but that’s again not language specific).

As to the second point, you can find many, many examples on the web of clueless translations where someone obviously put the word into a program and just wrote (or miswrote) whatever came out. So actual understanding wasn’t present.
