U.S. OPEN 2026, Frisco, Texas, August 25-30

I've been wondering something, did they move the US open 9 ball to texas because the state has one of the longest running 9 ball tournaments in the country with the Texas open? Also, I know there was some documentary released within the last year or so about pool in texas.

I know those are stretches but any chance those two things had a say in them going there this year?
I like the central location. It can be like an 8 or 10 hour drive from so many parts of the country.

Chalk gate at the open !!!!

And jump sticks should be banned and shot clocks should be on every table.

I think someone should produce a “Get Off My Lawn Open” for the AZ curmudgeons:

No jump cues
Old Gold Crown Tables
Only Master chalk
No Carbon Fibre
Green cloth
Centennial Balls with the traditional colours - Purple 4b
Hand rack for your opponent
One on the spot

What else am I missing?

U.S. OPEN 2026, Frisco, Texas, August 25-30

I'm curious if anyone knows what happened in the Ebert vs. Leinen match when it was 2-1 Ebert. I was watching and Ebert got out to go up 3-1 then I saw the ref confer with both of them and they made the score 2-2. I looked back on the end of the rack and didn't see anything out of the ordinary.
The score was posted incorrectly on the screen. The score was really 2-1 in favor of Leinein when Ebert won the fourth rack.

The score was then listed as 3-1 in favor of Ebert, before being corrected to 2-2.

I'd be on board with that, although I'm sure some chalk sponsors would squeal. All you have to do is watch Dr. Dave's video. Masters was the only one that left a discernable clumps of chalk on the cue ball. It should be relegated to bar rooms with holes in the cloth, developing countries, and gambling with drunks.

And jump sticks should be banned and shot clocks should be on every table.

My competition sports/Adam tribute cues

Who says I haven't asked? Point is i've been explicitly TOLD different things, about my exact model cue, and everyone figures themselves an authority. I've been told by a vendor still selling them it was a Balabushka HoF series, then an Adam, then a Competition Sports. Then you throw out 3 new names and I still don't know who's santa, because you'd rather be patronizing.
I didn’t realize you were asking.

What I’m saying is the people who seem to give a lot of answers to your previous questions, the vast majority have never actually asked anybody, but they’re just repeating what they heard on the Internet or what rumors they’ve heard. That seems to be true no matter what cue builder we’re talking about.

If for some reason, you’re pissed at me, forget I said anything. I don’t know anything about the cue you’re talking about since I don’t recall seeing it.

My competition sports/Adam tribute cues

I think it’s just a case of nobody bothering or caring to ask. It’s amazing what people can find out if they ask. In my case, I had great interviews with:

Jed Foreman - son of David Foreman, founder of Adam Cues

Patty Vorilas - one of the earliest employees at Adam USA and the last owner of the initial iteration of Adam USA

Don Spetkar - former Adam employee and founder of Competition Sports
