dont play if the t.d. doesn't have the balls to keep things moving doing whatever it takes.

if enough players stop playing or complain and stop they will fix it. a broken wheel never gets fixed if it isnt turning.

all it takes is to tell all players that they need to get out of the chair and shoot. if they stall at all they will be punished with loss of turn or match.
and all slow players wont be invited back. that right there solves most of the problems.

I think it has more to do with the wood than the inlays, points or rings. I have merry widow Viking from the 80's that hits nice as do my D series McDermotts but my best hitting cue is an old Titlist. I cant say its a great hitting cue because that is far too subjective, if people all felt the same about feedback there would never be a soft tip sold. Probably not a carbon shaft either, unless everyone uses only soft tips on them.

refs make mistakes. that is part of the game. it happens in all sports and can work for you or against you.

many shots come up that are too close to call. so the tie goes to the runner here and the shooter gets his point.
it works both ways. only when it goes against you do you complain.

if the opponent doesnt bother to go up and watch or ask the ref to watch closely that is on him. if he isnt allowed, then that is a fault in the rules.

As I recall when I won our WI state BCA tournament they deducted taxes from my winnings.

There's already short rack 8-ball for tournament play using 9-balls [4 solids, 4 stripes]. There's even a Saratoga version of this. Your option adds one more ball, so kinda slows down "short rack" that already exists. But, does add a little more variety.

A random tidbit that I remember hearing at the time based on the person moving the table. I can't 100% confirm it, but recall it being accurate. If you remember the Green Bay Packers Linebacker Clay Matthews, he had a short stint with the Los Angeles Rams. He bought a house in Calabasas, then sold it when he retired, that is where Frank's pool table ended up. I saw Frank's table a few times and he kept it pristine, always lamenting that he eventually sold it. Scroll down to the "The Billiards Room" picture in the article and you can see the table.
