By extending rails with wood before relaminating tops, gives you a tight pocket (any size you desire) from factory finish, where the laminate now continues on top of said extended rail, gregory then added rebuilt wood subrail and cushion

Also you can make castings flush with top.

My table is from 80's as am I, you can take any gold crown, restore it how you want and still be way under what a new table costs, hence I did this project on my own accord minus the rail work that Gregory did, enjoyed every minute of doing the project greatly, table plays amazing and you can make it however you want to look.

That's freakin gorgeous, I think its the best looking GC i have ever seen. I got lucky that my pocket openings turned out OK being reduced to 4 3/8' (extended sub-rails). I would love to finish my table like yours but its also in such pristine original condition that I would hate to change it. I wasn't concerned about the stain under the rails because I can easily sand it and paint it white again.

Agreed. I watched some of the recent US Open matches as I was sweating bets I had on them. Past that, I’m just not interested anymore, MR has ruined it for me. Substandard tables at the majority of their events, grey cloth, funky colored balls and rule changes.

Also as you mentioned, commentary as well. I actually really liked JJ and Scott Frost when they started with Accustats, both very knowledgeable with good insights. Sadly as they have come under the employ of MR they seem to have forgotten pool terminology and comment in Snooker terminology exclusively, kissing their new bosses asses I suppose. Then there’s that Phil Yates clown, I don’t know how he got a job, must be someone’s nephew. All in all, MR’s attempts to attract a viewing audience has alienated me. I miss Accustats.

I just buy the adapter with the smallest hole possible, which is 5/16x18. I then simply bore and thread the aluminum just like any other piece. This has worked just fine for me several times now. This works only for large pins. In my case, I needed several done to 7/16 x 11. Worked great.

Not at all what I am suggesting but one can only stare at the earth and sky for so long until its time to see something else. Being that its so sparsely populated I would guess the sights are few and far between but I could be wrong, I was wrong about Pennsylvania, I thought it would be downtrodden because of what we hear and see about Kensington Avenue but when driving thru I thought it was gorgeous. The only thing I thought strange about both Pennsylvania and Ohio is that they seem to like to build nice homes right on the interstate.

That would be great! There are so many tournaments in almost everyone's area. My goal is to get tournament info out people in there city, county and state, also big tournaments. I don't know how many times I've missed a tournament that was only 30 miles away or even in my town, lol.

Yes, instead of locating the spot on the wall from the shooting side, he is establishing the (reference) shot line from the *point of view* of the spot itself, and then pivoting, which swings the line to the cue ball. This is probably a bit more accurate than finding the spot by using 'experience imagination'--in my case, I sometime visualize the line from (say) the side pocket, through the middle diamond, that intersects with a line through the short-rail diamonds; essentially, looking at a triangulated point.

The last shot, with the 4 ball, shows how to adjust when the ball is not in line with the pocket, but it also referenced via the cushion, so the opposite, mirrored location is used. He aligns to the mirror-ball from the wall-spot, then pivots to the cue ball.

In a case where the target ball is away from the cushion(s), the spot location would need to be shifted--requiring visual/spacial relation ability. A "ghost cushion" could be imagined next to the ball, and then a "ghost spot" located for it, which then is used to align to the (source direction) pocket, and then shifted to the cue ball. That's wordy, but it's just following the same steps as the video, but with an imaginary cushion, with which the spot is determined--which of course is really the same as the mirrored, target pocket....And now that I've typed that, I would summarize it as using the mirror system, but using the POV of the 'spot-on-the-wall'!

My advice is that you should just sell me that cue as is, it belongs in the hands of a gambler.

Adding a short extension for certain shots is something that I can understand as it provides a bit more power when needed without increasing speed that might cause a miss.
But in my opinion it’s too much BS to deal with during play and any pro on tournament condition equipment (new and slick) should be able to get the action needed without the extension added.
Basically it’s all Earl Strickland’s fault and SVB that followed him, the rest are just copycats
