So many tips to choose from.

I don't blame you one bit, If it was me and you quoted me $150 I would have not only paid it I would have tipped you as well for creating a custom piece for me.
Sounds good, but not like he's giving you a haircut or waiting your table.

Different notions, I guess.

I quote someone a price for work, someone quotes me a price for work, custom or otherwise, that's the price --- I'm sure someone would be polite if a tip was offered (and likely decline), some would take it, which is fine and up to them, and some would absolutely feel a bit insulted.

When I picked up my cue from Pat Diveney, for example, I paid him what he told me the cue cost, no thought of a tip and he wouldn't have wanted one. When I went to downton Iowa City for lunch after - tipped the server.

Oh well, I've never understood the notion of tipping postal service workers but if someone does a great job on something and there is something special about it or I know I got a great bargain I might do some research and get him or her a gift certificate for a meal for two at their favorite restaurant or maybe a gift of a dozen of his favorite golf balls - something thoughtful.

All part of the vagaries of human interaction!

I just don't like the InFuze Kielwood shaft

I started playing pool again earlier this year after a long, 15 year hiatus. I'd never used LD shafts before, but figured it was a good time to switch and learn again on one of those. I went with a 12.4 Revo. It took a little to get used to, and I eventually found I got used to it, and got much of my old game back quickly. I realized that there were some things that a couldn't do as easily as I used to, like swerve shots, and short safeties. My ball potting was good, though. I didn't like the feel much, either. It was too sterile.

When I saw the Infuzed spliced Kielwood shafts, I thought it would be worth a try, as it would give me back the feel but still be very low deflection. It arrived this morning, and due to my main cue with the Revo being a 3/8-10 modified pin, I had to use the Infuzed on my old favorite player, a Varney custom with regular 3/8-10 pin. It's a 12.5mm shaft, btw. I immediately noticed a huge difference in energy transfer, which put a smile on my face for a while, hitting nice long draw shots and follows with much more spin and better speed control than the Revo. I was quickly humbled when I used some more extreme English, and found that the shaft isn't quite as low deflection as I'd hoped. It will take some getting used to, to adapt for the slightly higher deflection, but overall I prefer the feel. I only played with it for an hour today before my match, where I used my Revo, but I will put some hours on it this week and see how it goes. It could make for a good backup shaft, or it could become my preferred shaft. Time will tell, and I'll update when I reach a conclusion. It is very high quality, and Really looks beautiful. I got a great deal on it through a sponsored pro, so even if it doesn't work out, I may be able to recoup most of it if I were to sell it.

Mosconi Cup 2025, Dec. 3-6, Alexandra Palace, London

Shane has won W9C. He doesn't have anything to prove. He's a lock for MC every year due to his resume. But I do agree that if he doesn't make it in points he shouldn't be on the team. Gotta keep the same energy. I highly doubt he will not earn enough points to qualify, cause I mean...look at his competition.

There's no other American that even threatens the field at a WNT Major, or any other tournament for that matter if we're gonna keep it real.

Even when it's the weakest field possible, it's still hard for them to rise to the top.

And I'm not talking about Billy Bob's Big Boy Open 9 Ball World Heyball Ultimate Championship Tournament (Fargo handicapped)
The fact is, he's a losing player in MC and therefore no help to the team

I never understood why solid one layer leather tips from the same lot would play different from each other. I imagine the process as starting from a larger piece of leather from which many many tips are produced/ so a box of tips should most likely all come off the same larger tanned leather hide. I could understand different lots of tips being different because they don’t all come from the same hide.

Lepros are really tricky tell a good one. Some are very hard and some not so hard. Unfortunately you don't know until you get one on there. I am getting more convinced by triangles though. The really good ones, play as good as anything out there. I have found, if the sides of the tip, burnish well by changing color its nice medium.
and If the sides stay the same color after burnish, as you sanded it (gray 'ish) its probably going be very soft.
I went through around 4 tips before i found a good one. Some guys can tell before they install, and many say the 15mm play better.

8 Ball Question??

There is a video on YouTube where Stephen Hendry and Steve Davis are playing pool. During the game, Stephen Hendry calls pool a Mickey Mouse game.

I found that somewhat offensive, especially because he kept missing his shots.

But when I see things like pocket markers, it actually does feel like a Mickey Mouse game.

Are the old Adam cues from the 70's and 80's nice players?

Adam

Very solid player - was my everyday player on the 70s for about 10 years
Beautiful to look at and great to play with.
A bit in the heavy side So I recently replaced the bolt on the cue pictured below.
AH-37 Galaxie
I Still take it out for a spin every once and a while. It still hits clean and crisp.

Love my Galaxie and play with it regularly. About 10 years ago I sent it to Scot Sherbine to refurb it from the ground up. Amazing job. https://proficientbilliards.com/2022/03/14/adam-cues-adam-galaxy-cue/

Pool Ball Collecting.

That’s fantastic, Mulambo!

I know a few other gentlemen who have great expertise on the subject of billiard games and their rules. They visit this forum occasionally and I’m sure would be extremely interested to view your website when it is ready.

For my part, I would certainly love to see more photographs of your ball collection.

Good luck!
