I’ve been told by people who were there that the tournament in Tahoe was one of the best tournaments ever. And you even had a new rule at the time: push-out after the break.

But what really makes this special is the commentary along with pool-related commercials, e.g., Corner Pocket. It’s solid gold., little stories, observations, and cool pool nuggets sprinkled throughout. You just don’t get that same feel anymore. This is more than an old pool match. It’s a little piece of pool history. Vintage pool. Vintage characters. Vintage memories.

Fair point, but the fact that equipment sponsorship deals have become more lucrative is surely the result of greater overall sales, especially in Asia. Equipment cost is not about covering the cost of player sponsorships, but about supply and demand.

Nonetheless, your point in important, because any increase in price makes it harder for an aspiring player to earn a living.

Never had a problem drawing the big CB long distances, you just have to know if you're in a fun room or a gambling room.

You start drawing the big rock around in a "fun" bar and they think you're a world champ, you do that in a gambling room and the only people wanting to play are champs. Lol

I looked through the years around that time, nothing! The plot thickens... Maybe it wasn't APA, that's what he said but he may have been mistaken, which is funny because in the interview he talks about having a genius level memory.
