Amen. I left my hometown because it was overrun by drugs and alcohol. Buried so many childhood friends by the time I was 26 that I said to myself.

After the funeral myself and another friend went to the local bar. Johnny the bartender knew where we had just come from. I asked him to go into the cash register and get out my friends chit so I could pay it for him.

Johnny got it out and stood in front of me and said, “ I knew you were his only true friend no one offered to pay his bill but you.”

Johnny ripped it up shook my hand and my friend next to me cried.

Never got a permit in Cal. Very hard to do here. Fuc it, I carried anyway. Will take my chances. Life or death let the other guy die!

No guns for foreigners in the PI. Get caught with a gun you do years in prison! But here we go out at night and no need to worry. Foreign are treated well here.

In every action room you will see many money men with small shoulder or hip bags. Often with a gun inside!

Pool Ball Collecting.

Oh, I was not thinking about stealing traffic, as my website offers no room for discussion anyway. I posted a new thread under Rules and Strategies, but as this subforum is dedicated to the 300 ways book, I wanted to be sure. I do not want to put anything in there which is out of context, and of course I do not want to step on somebody else‘s toes. Hence I asked if it may be appropriate in there as well 😊

My intended audience is just everyone interested in cue sports. And as new ball sets - like Starball, Cuemate,… - automatically imply new rules as well, of course collecting the balls and the rules seems to be connected to me. The Billiards Games Library

Fellow cue sport enthusiasts!

Over the last couple of years, I collected a big amount of rules for various billiards related games. First I started to print them in pages, but as they grew more and more, this was getting way too much to sort and manage properly. So I started to make a digital collection of the rules I found. Over time, the idea grew on me, to share my gathered knowledge with the community which started my interest in these games. So I started to make a website…

This week my library went online, and I may proudly present it here!

The Billiard Games Library

First things first: this website was only developed on and for desktop computers so far. As this is the only source I could test it without going online. And as I may have some knowledge in web development, but barely any mobile web development, like touch device support, styling for different screen sizes, … I intent to make it better over time though. And if anybody is willing to help, I would be more then glad, because my knowledge of CSS is a bit small to be honest 😄

Secondly, as this subforum is intended for the 300 ways book, I want to thank the author of it. I started collecting rules before I knew the book existed, but when I found references to it online, it sparked a huge drive in me and my collecting grew way more serious. Even though I do not have a copy myself, as they are quite hard to find in Europe, I still got a lot of names for games which helped me a lot in finding new sources!

Thanks for your time, critique, suggestions, and I am looking forward to any further discussion about my research project!

I can’t entirely understand the translation of the comments section but maybe someone like [mention]Flakeandrun [/mention] can shed some light on what they are saying about why this is done and how common it is.

Used to be Sandy's Tavern in south Minneapolis. They had a valley bar box, and great food. Peak dive bar. They no longer have a table, but it's worth noting for the nostalgia.

My grandmother (1924-2024) lived in an apartment building across the street. As a kid I'd spend weekends with her and this lil 4'9" woman would walk my ass into the ground around MSP. Museums, shops, orchestra hall, etc. We'd usually end up at Sandy's for dinner at least once each weekend. She'd give me quarters to play pool. Wasn't until college that I realized why she always had quarters. She gave me her laundry money to put in the pool table. I have that wonderful woman to thank for so much.
