Custom and High End Cues on the Decline?

you have to blame it on the changing times as well. old gens are lucky that they are able to afford when everything was within their grasp. don't have to save a lot to set them for life. and buying custom cues wasn't just a luxury, it was spent on mad money. nowadays, people can't even afford to pay the rent, bills, or even save for a holiday without working themselves to death.
I wouldn't be so sure about that assumption.
I do a lot of fishing and have had one boat or another for the last 50 yrs. When talking to the manager friend of mine at this place I buy my boats at a few years ago, he told me most of the walleye boats purchased, buyers wrote a check for, most of the bass boats were all financed. Bass boat prices at the time were 60k-100k, Walleye boats were 110k-140k. Older people like me bought most of the walleye boats, while younger bought most bass boats. My last one was close to 130k and thinking about a new one now.

Funny pic/gif thread...

If I could I'd be happy to share a video of a ground blizzard which were a common occurrence in Montana when I was a kid .
This was long before rumble strips on the highway and you hoped and prayed that you could see the reflectors on the side of the road !
You learned quickly to slow way down and pay close attention to what you could feel while holding the steering wheel and the sounds of the tires .

Yellow or rose colored shooting or safety glasses are good send to cut down the chances of snow blindness , remembering to blink you're eyes helps greatly also . Being prepared is the main thing a warm blanket , gloves and warm hat with a candle with 3 or 4 wicks will help keep you warm jerky , candy bars or just snacks and bottled water helps and if you slide off the road stay with your vehicle and keep the snow from covering up the exhaust pipe .
Every year or two someone thinks they can walk home or to the neighbors house , some make it but sadly others don't .

Revo 11.8 mm vs Jacoby black v4 11.8 mm

I'm currently getting a custom cue and I'm trying to decide which 11.8mm carbon fiber shaft to pair with it. I currently use a Revo, but I'm curious about the Jacoby Black v4

For those shooting with slim diameters (11.8mm), which carbon fiber shaft do you prefer for the best balance of playability and feedback, low deflection.
If you want a CF shaft that has feedback like a wood shaft you should look at Becue's Prime II 12.0 shaft, most CF shafts play stiffer and there is little to no feedback, this shaft has a super long taper and has flex like a wood shaft, it's worth a look

A New Pool game...? Yes... Look inside...

Lame idea dead and buried.
As close as I can tell, selling the special balls for the game would have been their first large source of revenue. Then, the many leagues that would spring up would be sending them membership fees and weekly fees. And shortly after that, the TV advertising would have been big.

On the other hand, it seems like Ultimate Pool/UK is doing OK. I'm guessing they had a lot more experience and significant funding when they started.

Sold 4 Point Mystery Cue.................F/S

I have a very nice 4 point with veneer cue I took in on trade recently. The cue was butt only when I got it and I made the shaft for it. The cue is in great condition with the only issue being a small lift in the finish at the bottom of one point (see pic). Laser straight together and apart. The shaft is old school stiff solid hitting wood, does have a sugar mark down by joint (see pic). The wrap looks close to new wht with blk spec linen. No markings on the cue butt looks to be a nice build. Birdseye front and flame maple butt, ebony points with 4 veneers.

The cue is very slim in the butt for those that enjoy that smaller feel in the handle.

Who builds the Becue, full pool cues, and are they popular?

I see. It is quite the change and really noticeable if you are coming from a 14mm.
Are you talking about the question you asked above?

I don't know where the 14mm is coming from, sorry. I was comparing tips stated to be 12.5 to other 12.5s. I think it's down to the optics of not having a white ferrule and the sleek, and all black taper on the shaft.
