Gambling room all but gone at the expo?

I’m heading there tomorrow so this is from a friend who’s been there all weekend but the gambling room which used to be packed with bar box’s only has 1 bark box and a couple 9 footers ? While I’m fine with that because i think the gambling holds the game back to get bigger I’m wondering why that is? It was always a big part of the expo

Predator Shaft Query

Sorry - In progress
The only change was that the shaft was actually a BKIII

Thanks Bro -
I appreciate you asking for the pictures.
I found the evidence that I was looking for:

I have the proof that the vault plate “and” silencer pad was present on the original shaft. It’s entirely possible that when I ordered the cue, the stock phenolic tip (my request) was replaced by a Samsera break tip. I still believe that the original cue tech didn’t know what he was doing, and mistakenly took too much material off.

Super Billiards Expo 2026

I'd have to lock up the credit card and checkbook! 😁
Seriously. Reduce the CC limit and lose the checkbook. The last item I bought was a JB 4/8 hybrid. I needed it like a snail needs airbrakes. Someone was looking at it. I said to John if they put it down I'll take it. Fortunately/unfortunately I'm not in Pa right now. Markley Billiards is not too far.... it's a nice players room. (nice room for anyone)

Predator Shaft Query

That’s an “after” when the original vault plate was removed, and you’re looking at the silencer pad. The ferrule was not cleaned up - They told me that the scratch marks could not be buffed out.
RESOLVED!
I watched Lil’Chris replace a BKIII tip video. He had the original tip, which got blown off after several years of play. He took a fraction off the vault plate surface, prepped and installed a Taom tip over the vault plate. It doesn’t appear that a silencer pad was present.

As promised, I’ve attached the pics.

Edit: I found this on Seybert’s website:
“The Predator BK3 shaft features a V-Tek tip silencer.”
This will never end -

Chicago pool happenings

You feel unsafe in poor neighborhoods? None of those where you’re from?

I’ve been in plenty of bad neighborhoods. Did I feel unsafe, sometimes. I’ve also meet some very friendly people in those neighborhoods. I’ve got a scared to death story from one of my pool adventurers in Ft. Wayne. Same story, bad neighborhood with some very nice people and a few bad ones. I feel fortunate to have come out of that one unscathed. Here in New Orleans there’s been so many car jackings and crime in places here that people run red lights to reduce their exposure. Every city in the world has bad areas, it’s not limited to Chicago.
