Why do some Chinese players shoot insanely fast?

The fact that this is considered quick just shows how much we have all gotten used to the slow deliberate mechanical shooting that is common today. To me, that is just a nice decent speed
Speaking about slow mechanical shooting, it does seem annoying and somehow disappointing seeing majority of the Pros getting much slower than you. I know I shoot slower now but never thought that I would see some pros takes longer to shoot a straight in shot like it's super complicated. I'm not saying everyone but there are a few out there that I might be interested browsing on my phone than waiting for those players to finally take a shot. No wonder we now have shot clocks.

Identifying Rail Cushions? Klematch? For 9 ball?

My installer has now been and gone and in appreciation for the feedback and in case it helps anyone in a similar situation, this was the outcome...

-We discovered the cushions installed had no branding anywhere, my installer is convinced they are a cheap no-name brand. I am currently trying to claim back from the manufacturer what I overpaid for the "Klamatch"
-Cloth was indeed upside down

DURING THE INSTALL:
-Saggy MDF cross members under the slate replaced with industrial steel with custom welded fixings to allow 18 point levelling
-10mm MDF added all around the table to allow stapling the cloth rather than having to use contact adhesive
-Cushions and rails redimensioned properly and facings where added to the cushions
-New CPBA Competition cloth installed, right way up this time!

RESULTS:
-Speed is significantly improved, as is spin control
-Cushions work well all be it not quite as bouncy as those on a proper pool table, but I am led to believe this could be due to the MDF rails
-All in all, I am pleased with the result, it is still not a pro-table but it is a much more playable table, that I really can play and practice on and not be completely out of tune when changing tables
-I can not recommend the table or its manufacturer as they have clearly shown they have no idea of what makes a decent table and just want to rip their customers off by oversharing extra's the they then don't even provide.

Unaware of mismatched ball sets in upcoming tournament.

It is why I always carry a set of my own pool balls whenever I play pool. Just in case the pool balls were crappy I want to eliminate frustration and missed shots because the pool balls I played with varied in weights. Remember that the official rules of pool do not require the pool balls to consistently be the same size or weight. Pool ball weights can vary as much as 1/2 oz. A cue ball that can be 1/2 oz. lighter or heavier than the object balls will perform differently than a cue ball that’s the identical weight as the object balls that can also vary in weight. It is allowable and in the official rules of pocket billiards.

I agree. Just to be honest, that is decent speed. I do however highly doubt a few YouTube videos of chinese (?) Players pocketing balls with an insane speed with some ridiculous CB control without even missing. It felt like the guys playing have mastered everything about pocketing and seldom do they even chalk. Not sure if you guys seen those videos as well.

Tascarella Cue questions...for owners and previous owners...

I've always liked the idea of having a Tascarella cue. The history with Balabushka, the classic style, very old school.

So I got a quote...nothing fancy, his classic 4 point, 4 veneer with stainless steel joint, a few notched diamond inlays with leather wrap.....$5,250!!!

The questions I have...

1. Is that worth that price or should I find something used?

2. Is it worth the hype? Does it really have a great hit and feel? I know its subjective but I do see a lot for sale.

3. Do you have one that you would never get rid of because you love it so much?

4. If you have ordered a custom from Pete, what aspects of your cue have you loved or not loved?

THANKS IN ADVANCE!
John
I’ve been using Tascarella cues for 10 years. I’ve owned about top cue maker out there and by far the best hitting cues I’ve ever used. As far as cost you would have to figure what’s best for you. Buying a Tascarella cue is an investment that will always hold its value.
