Well, now I've went and done it.

It was that JB welded clear 5 min. I used it about 5 times on that project and after the 1st time not setting up I was real careful.
Must be bad as it took almost 3 days to firm up. That's why I ordered some different stuff for now.
I had this recently happen to me about 2 months ago. I used it to glue something together and the next day it was rubbery. I look at the bottles and one has a cloudy bottom. They were new bottles purchase earlier in the summer.

So many tips to choose from.

The market for tips today has gone bananas and the prices are outrageous.
I have tried many tips over the years and the one I feel is of the best quality, holds up great, and gives me superb control is very reasonably priced.
Ultraskin tips can be purchased for around 4.20 each and they offer tips that will match anyone's needs.
They are priced so that I am able to give them to my friends and they all like them better than the high priced ones they were using.
I can't argue with 4.20 and @pooldawg8 DawgDuds are 10/10 for pool, I say you.

Well, now I've went and done it.

I've used epoxy for years and never had an issue till this last time. My other epoxy had got old so I went out and all I could find was this stuff and didn't want to wait to order some longer cure higher strength stuff. It was just an experiment I was doing on something anyway. It just didn't fully harden up and was slightly tacky to the touch the next day. After about 3 days all was fine, but that was it for that stuff, never had that happen before. I'm fully familiar with letting things cure first before sanding as I have a very extensive woodworking background. I've ordered some new epoxy in a couple different cure rates. Thankfully all this playing around has been on my own stuff.

New 1P Rules For The Derby City Classic

1pocket, especially nowadays, does not take a long time to play.

Just at the International Open and virtaually all the matches finished well under the three hour limit. Personally, I believe it's because the common style of play has evolved thanks to Efren, Scott, and Tony. The old, "you don't kick at a ball unless you're mad at your backer" is far in the past and guys are shooting much more sophisticated shots, banks, kicks, and safeties from 20-30 years ago. The fact is that if you want to be competitive today you have to be far more aggressive than in years past. You don't really see anywhere near as many games with a bunch of balls up table anymores.

Not saying there aren't dinosaurs still out there but if it's a decent field time is not a problem. The Derby is just a different kettle of fish.

Lou Figueroa

Agreed.

That isn't bad for the Derby which is set up for it.

When you start using pool rooms for tournaments, other things start being a problem,
like taking up all of the 9ft tables all day on Saturday which is high earning potential time.
So, tournament wise it's not for every room.

Buddy Hall vs Steve Mizerak, who had the nicer stroke?

Most powerful stroke - Steve Mizerak
Well for sure you have had the opportunity to observe all the best. I gotta wonder why Mike Masey doesn't get that nod. Shrug. His table length draw on a full ball jump shot still comes to my mind. It was executed in 84 or 85 at the Tahoe tournament and a diagram of the shot made it into a Robert Byrne book. They called him Tennessee Tarzan for a reason. 🤷‍♂️
Oh and what about the description of Efren's stroke? Early on, I remember someone calling it "A Pump Handle Stroke". It sure worked for him though.

Buddy Hall vs Steve Mizerak, who had the nicer stroke?

Best looking stroke of all time - Kim Davenport. Louie Roberts second. Most beautiful stroke - Tie, Ed Kelly and Marvin Henderson. Most powerful stroke - Steve Mizerak, who also had a fine soft touch when necessary. Best stroke under pressure - Buddy Hall! He never dogged it except in one illustrious match. Ronnie Allen second here. He never ever missed his out ball!

Overall I'd rather watch Kim get locked down in his rock hard stance and fire that ball in without a quiver in his body anywhere. His stroke was smooth, straight, powerful and deadly! Even the way he moved around the table was solid, every step meaningful.

Only cue man I ever saw close to him was Raymond Ceuelmans, the famous Three Cushion player. He was like a tank at the table when he got down on the ball. Loved watching him play too.
I'm not sure about "best" stroke this and that...but I can say, when in top gear, I have rarely seen two players (Earl and Shaw) who have made the game look easier.

You hit the nail on the head with those words.

I've felt that way for quite some time, cost of living/traveling/eating for an American pro is about triple since 70's, they are in the same boat.
just not here yet.
MR gives me this feeling, they just wanted the US Open 9 Ball event/name. Hope I'm wrong.
I say that because how many other Major events in the US have they produced here since the buyout?

Best thing I've seen from MR is Mentioning TX as an event location.... better set the dates for 2027 why?
2026 9 ball is already planned out in other parts of Earth.

Is MR going to accommodate all the top players by scheduling the TX event properly?
Are the 2026 US Open dates already set?
Fraser stated in the interview last week that the schedule would be released to the players in a couple of weeks. Didn't sound like any "new" event here in the US other than the new location for the PLP event in Lauderale in February at Classic Billiards, which they coincidently scheduled right on top of the Predator Vegas event that was announced in August.

The only question is, where are they moving the US Open 9 Ball to.

It's Been Two Months Now

You should be receiving daily updates at this point for sure. Maybe even twice a day.
This reminds me of the good Ole days when I made waterbeds. Since I was a one man shop the update calls took me from the work. (Of course this was before cell phones ) On the second update request I would politely point out this fact. I would request that update calls be made after noon as my daughter would be answering the phone as soon as she got home from Kindergarten.

Well, now I've went and done it.

I've got some Tomahawk coming as it had great recommendations also, and it was the 1st material I found when ordering. Have to say, even though I ordered on the weekend, I called the 1st thing this morning to try and add another rod to my order and it had already been put in the mail. They are a 1st class operation for sure, great service. Now I just have to wait for the epoxy as the stuff I had I didn't like as it took forever, days, to cure. While I'm never in much of a hurry, I would like to be able to work it the next day.
You need a epoxy that suitable for the job. 5min epoxy, regardless of the brand is junk! Use a slow cure epoxy. Get a scale that accurately measures small amounts, lay a playing card on the scale, power it on, weight out equal parts of the epoxy (or whatever ratio the manufacturer recommends.) and thoroughly mix the epoxy, this usually leaves the epoxy slightly cloudy.
I always make a point of saving to the playing card with the epoxy leftovers, so I can check that the epoxy has properly cured. 24 hours is usually enough for it to set up enough for use, but for something like a basecoat, I always wait 72 hours before sanding. If the epoxy comes off in small lumps, it's not cured, it should come off as a fine white powder.
